I went got up on the gurney and talked to her about how we needed this going to be ok. My mom and nurses were watching us. I had to have a patch over my eyes and keep them on for a while my mom guided me around the room. When the patches Came off it was great to be able to see.

The doctors' explanation of the patient's condition at the beginning of the clip reminds me of the scene in the Richard Kennedy story, "The Dark Princess" where the royal physician explains the princess's blindness: He said the girl's condition was caused by a "frontal optical reversal of the cognitive processes acting on the stereoscopic image-blending phenomenon which resulted in a transposed focal plane bilaterally projecting her sight into a dark area of her brain." That makes just as much sense to me as what the doctors in this video said!
