Especially during E-Day, when the Locust were at their absolute peak for strength. The best and strongest of the Locust horde that wiped out over a quarter of the human population in a single day. Not the post Hammer of Dawn (and especially post Gears of War 1) Locust that were beyond scraping the bottom of the barrel for manpower similar to the humans. I'm willing to bet the drones of E-Day could manhandle a Gears of War 3 drone with ease.

You've long since lost your ideal Recruits.

I love that this seems to be Rick’s strong place of them all! Hopefully when the game releases this is one he picks up but I’m down for any of them especially if it means they go back and play them all! As for the trailer, Marcus in this trailer looks ALOT like JD from the new games, more than ever so I love that. I will be here Day One!

I mean, I’m sure there will be many reoccurring characters in this prequel, especially in the books(that take place before the video game) there’s a lot of re occurring characters. As everything is going to lead up to gears 1, now since we don’t have much info. They could’ve tweaked some things story wise so it will be a different storyline sorta. Or they will go with to the original that lines up at the end to the beginning of the first game. Either way it will be really fun

I am really glad to see my boy Dom back. But at the same time unprepared of what Gears of War: E-Day has in stored for us. From what I recalled, Dom and Maria lost their children on Emergency Day which led up to his wife fell in despair and leave Jacinto. The rest we know what happens in Gears 1 & 2.

Even though we not get a chance to see the Pendulum Wars (other than from the novels and comics), Emergency Day is the one event I am so dying to explore ever since the very first Gears of War game came out in 2006… and it sets 14 years before Dom broke Marcus out of prison.

Aaron is thinking of the 2005 Spielberg 'War of the Worlds' film, where the alien tripods had in fact been burrowed under ground for some time in anticipation of the eventual alien assault. This choice is unique to that film, as Spielberg wanted to avoid showing the aliens arriving in spaceships, which he felt had been seen too often. *insert joke about Aaron not reading books here*

This series is so near and dear to me. I'm so glad we get to fight through the events of E-Day. I like the storytelling in this teaser. Marcus goes for his gun right away like most new soldiers would, but then he's stopped by the grub. Then he goes for the tv to fight it off because you gotta use what you can to survive. But ultimately it's Dom that saves him in the end because you rely on your mates to persevere. We are so used to seeing this character as a bad A, but he's so mortal in this.

gears of war was my generation. me and the boys tore into it like we were actually part of the war. when gears two came we played every day nonstop finding everything and going 1 to 50 waves on horde mode before we realize we can start on any wave. i still didnt like gears 3 because it seemed way too much trying to make a perfect ending in a world that is tragic and dark. im really hoping they go back to its roots, the lambent turned it more into metro than gears.

Not a fan of Gears of War, but the Xbox showcase was really good. I got an Xbox Series S around when it came out and rarely play it. But there were a LOT of good things at this show. I’ll definitely be checking them out.

Ive been playing gears since around 6 years old and thought it was one of the best series, then it got to like gears 4 and 5 and i lost complete interest in the franchise as did most others, so this new gears is pretty much our last hope for the series so ill cry if this flops 😂
