so true. travis is so sloppy on Scotts songs
@DaleWalter967 жыл бұрын
Lol that's not true at all He's playing one of scotts songs right now and it sounds on point Travis is a beast Scott was a beast They're both good in their own right but have different styles It's all about preference
@SonikJesus7 жыл бұрын
beast? no. good enough? yes. watch Scott play the same song. its a huge difference. not knocking travis but Scott had his own style that travis can't match. they're both different drummers. I prefer Scotts power. its insane. such a fat sound. Imo Scott was the key in the band that completely made blink punk. has style allowed them to stand in the same arena as bands like pennywise and nofx.
@DaleWalter967 жыл бұрын
jazzblaster if you listen to "Hearts All Gone" / "I Feel So" or any drum solo, you can tell that Travis is very technical & precise. He's a tight drummer. Scott is a better punk drummer for sure but that's about it. (Not saying thats's bad, he's great) his speed on songs like "Zulu" or "Does My Breath Smell" (live) are awesome & I agree that Scotts drumming is what made blink sound so punk. I like the variety though because like I said, it's all about preference. You can't just say one is better than the other because they're really not. It's like comparing Eminem to Fat Mike. I've never heard Scott do a solo because I don't really think he could find creative enough fills but Travis could never give blink that gritty punk sound because he throws in too many different styles. I like both drummers equally because depending on what mood I'm in I can throw on "Cheshire Cat" for that punk sound or "Enema of the State" for that more poppy but melodic sound.

I'm super glad to see them play songs like this live in recent years. But I do have to say the angst present in Mark's voice when he originally recorded is nowhere to be found in this live version. Glad someone appreciates this song. Yeah, the Dude Ranch version is hard to beat. I've pretty much outgrown this kind of stuff (I'm 44) but always have a big soft spot for Dude Ranch :) This is one of their more heartfelt songs, it's a great one, but this recording isn't all that great.
