Does anybody else just love the title of this song? It's so nostalgic and universal to that feeling of 'going away to college' and leaving behind what you once knew. This song never fails to get me thinking.

Awesome tone! Whenever I hear this song I think about their old school live performance of this song at Sydney. I probably listened to that live performance more than the studio version

The Mark, Thomas and Travis Show version of Going Away To College is the best version of the song by far.

Fuck me I have never been starstruck by a bass before. I am totally in love. I don’t even care that it doesn’t have the reversed pickups. Although I have always wondered about the preference, I think the newer model has not as good low end but better highs and possibly vice versa for the OG, but I’m not entire sure. Haven’t seen a good demo of both I don’t think.

Nice cover and great bass tone, I love that shell pink version! I had 2 MH Fenders, a Surf Green v1 and a White Blonde v2. I got rid of both of them because both had this annoying rattle/fret buzz that even my local luthier couldn't get rid of. You couldn't really hear the fret buzz through the amp anymore but it was still loud in the room. You had 2 Fender MH's now (right?) how is the playability and action in your opinion and did you have any loud fret buzz before/after a setup?

This is my 3rd hoppus. My first was the v2 green. I'm just kind of used to basses have a little bit of buzz especially with how hard i hit the strings. They've all been great though

Thanks for the reply man! I always wondered what others would think about the fret buzz involving the hoppus bass, who better to ask than you! I don't know if I'll ever own another hoppus bass. If a deal pops up I might, but so far they couldn't grow on me. The Sterling Sub Ray 4 in Mint Green is my go-to for covers of bands like Blink, Muse, Billy Talent, FYS... Your opinion and covers for that bass were fantastic as well, thanks!
