Zoe Kravitz's directorial debut Blink Twice is quite the wild ride. It's a film I mostly liked and I thought Kravitz direction was great for her first film in the director's chair. Here's my full movie breakdown and analysis of the ending.

This movie really helped me shift my perspective on "forgetting". Lately I have been so obsessed with wishing I could forget the horrible memories of my past and feeling like if I could just forget them l'd be so much happier. Watching this movie helped me realize there's power in remembrance. Channing Tatum tells her forgetting is a gift but it turned out to be a curse for the victims because it allowed them to be continuously revictimized. It's important to remember our bad experiences and learn as much as we can from them as to try and avoid them reoccurring in the future.I needed to see this!! Thank you to this movie for that

A lot of people in the comments are saying Lucas was an unnecessary character but I think he plays a big part in this. Realistically, think of him as an ode to all those celebrities who knew what Diddy did, they saw things and did: nothing. They knew everything but they did nothing to help the victims, continued to hang around Diddy + attend his lavish parties and stayed silent. I feel that’s what Lucas represents and his character is very imperative to signify the people who watch these heinous acts but pretend that life is all fun and dandy in the end to preserve their own guilt.

The Genesis story ends with women being subordinated to men, as a punishment for listening to a talking snake. The film's original title is Pussy Island, it could be seen as a misogynistic derogatory term for those men incapable of relating to women without poisoning and abusively dominating them. There really has never been such thing as a talking snake, it beggars belief that anyone is capable of pretending to themselves that they don't know that.

Her long hair was in her old lipstixk from year before, better luck next time, she cut her hair as a survival response to never be grabbed by it again if she came back The high heels message is typically women in heels have more powerful presence, so by snapping the heel he takes that away from her "Human sacrifice before or after dinner" "I did what I had to do to survive thats how you win" I think the snake venom is there for him to remember when he wants4 too...also the perfume is made from the flowers Frieda smells and same ones on their bed when arriving Frida’s scar, Knowing later that Slater was the cause of the scar it’s clear he was testing her here to see how wiped her memory When she tell the therapist I remember you they get nervous but she talking about from the Gala The guy at the first dinner, after Slate announce Camilla app launch downplay her success by saying its b.s. men hate women in power Sarah: "Girls fighting for their lives training for nothing Frida: "Im sure it will come in Handy" The women are eating all these red food items and drinks and the men eating eggs and different items Frida had the guy knife hidden in the mirror The women are eating all these red food items and drinks and the men eating eggs and different items When a guy dont want to help hold Frida down Slate says somebody getting drawn on forehead tonite At the Beginning at the Gala Frida says she has an excellent memory Slater friend says Jess looks familiar at the Gala in the beginning And Stace says nice to see you instead of Meet you that the worse the trauma is, the more they forget. They all forget Jess They establish that the gala happens once a year (she met him at one before the timeframe of the movie, then she is at one at the beginning of the movie)They establish that the gala happens once a year, she met him at one before the timeframe of the movie, then she is at one at the beginning of the movie Frida hiding the knife in the mirror, much like she hid her rent money, was her subconscious trying to make her aware of the truthJess’s lighter played a crucial role too. Her confusion over how she never seemed to own her lighter until she wrote her name on it reflected her diminishing presence in her own life. Without marking it, she might have remained just an afterthought

the one thing i can say about it is it puts alot of things and certain situations that came out too the public about epistein island and diddy into perspective once the females started remembering everything is when it got real for me like damn stuff really be put right in front of us and we look over it everytime like it’s nothing when it’s things the victims cant even talk about or don’t want to remember i pray every victim finds peace, can heal and live an happy wonderful life they deserve

I went to the film not knowing what to expect. I was told it was going to be a wild ride. I watched the first part thinking the shots were cool, the acting was decent, but it didnt feel like it was going anywhere. It wasnt until the 3rd act that things started making sense. I still had some questions, but the film became more satisfying and today (the next day) ...I cant get the film out of my mind. I liked it. I should also mention ...I saw it in a somewhat packed theatre except for the two front rows and when the movie ended I was the only one to leave right away. The whole audience just stayed seated a bit mesmerized by what they had just seen.
@smudgercat172 ай бұрын
How different from the theater I saw this in...I and everyone else in the theater did not wait for the credits to startbefore they got up and left. No polite discussions as we left. I did tell one of the clean up crew as I passed that it was a lousy movie. Maybe yall saw a different version....one that made sense.

Frida (Free da)tried to save the women with the snake venom (snake in the garden of Eden), however they would have to fight their way off the cursed island. The abuse and how many people purposely forget it for goid reason. I really liked this movie because, although predictable there were some twists,especially at the end. I will watch this movie again.

It was so dumb for them to go with those strange unknown men that they literally just met within a couple of seconds just because they had a lot of money. Poor decision making from those females ! So Moral of the Story : Don't wander off with random men just because they are handsome and got cash. Because they can be wolves in sheep's clothing.

I just want to point out one thing I noticed that I think the director wanted people to notice. The two main characters aren’t the original ones, Freida always is the main but through the movie the “hot girl” becomes the main and Freida’s friend. I think that’s a way of saying us women shouldn’t shun the hot girls, because we DO tend to treat the super super hot girls like they think their all that and a bag of chips and this movie just shows that that popular hot girl is just a normal girl at the end of the day, who is also able to be a fantastic friend.
@deej5608Ай бұрын
@@marymartin8763 beauty is subjective one with that being said I think it went deeper than that. She was pretty, Freda was just as pretty her features stood out and they were mesmerizing. Her clear skin her big beautiful lips her gap tooth smile her eyes I love the close-ups of her face she is stunning. With that being said I also felt that the mixed girl with the big hair was very pretty as well. All of them were pretty in their own right. I think what the girl who used to be in the reality competition TV show said stood out because she was trained to be aware and fight to win a competition so she's always looking watching learning about people who they are or what they're doing that is just who she is by second nature. She was always watching because she was looking at Frida getting closer to Slater and Slater was the prize in her mind. She was the most aware out of all the girls so it made sense for her to realize if she says Jess is missing I would know if a Jess was missing more than anybody else here. She was too busy being competitive when in all honesty being competitive with women doesn't help us as we fight and navigate this patriarchy

I enjoyed the movie, but that ending threw me off. I don't know what I'm supposed to take from that. Frieda ended up becoming the same as Slater, right? I knew she was selfish abd shallow, but it was disturbing how quickly she moved on from her friend's death. Also, the loss of memories, only emphasized how much of her true self was shown in that scene when she dismissive of Jess's feelings because "she felt seen". She's a pathetic, shallow person who would always idolize someone like Slater and go to his paradise. It's insane what happened to those women, but her being able to take his place... what are we supposed to take from that? That women should take power? That women can be just as evil? We know that the perfume, while it keeps that person's true core, it makes them a new blank slate without memories. She's now literally forced a Slater that can barely function as her slave. I guess it's just a story, cuz I don't know what message I'm supposed to take from that.

You’re reading way too much into this but in a weird wayand especially on the negative side for women…. Weird You need to pay attention more throughout the movie. Every scene may have clues and you need to put two and two together Earlier in the film she says “success is the best revenge” and throughout the film a line is also said about getting even. She’s always wanted to be felt seen as many people do. Almost everyone on this planet is succesptible to being seen in some way. We’re humans and some might take it a bit too far, it happens. The end is basically her taking back her revenge and using it to make the life she’s wanted.
@ayesha_jane2 ай бұрын
You summed it up exactly how I saw it. Hollywood always has to invert things but make it seem ‘good’ to the stupid feminists. Making it look like she as a woman took back her power, when in fact she’s just become the same evil. 🐍

I got I Spit on Your Grave, meets Get Out, The Most Dangerous Game, meets Epstein Island or Diddy Party type, or even Don't Worry Darling vibes from this movie. Interesting to see the amount of female likes of this movie vs. the men on this. Because for most of Hollywood's years, we get the POV from the male perspective, but in more recent years we have had more female POV / Directors, coming through in the movie making process. I thought it was a great movie with Channing Tatum's charming personality and gaze, winning over the females. My Mom just adores and loves him, and she is in her 70's. It feels so real and horrific, with all the abuse allegations coming out of the entertainment industry lately. I'll have to go watch it again for symbolism and details I may have missed.
