Thanks for putting the overview together. There's nothing that wasn't in the manual, but it was helpful to get a feel for how you approach the whole instrument

Kindof want to get one of these for the office. I currently make everyone use a collection of Volcas. They like the Volcas since they are legitimate little analog synthesizers, but they can’t do much without me guiding them. With the Blipblox they could probably have at it without “messing up” some crucial tuning parameter.

That is exactly what we designed the Blipblox to do!

Yeah.'ve got 5 VOLCAS (one is dead) and what i REALLY don't like is if you touch by mistake one buttons,you loose everything and spend half an hour to get some sound again (Volca bass and Volca synth)

@@marinierferdinand oh ya I know what you mean. Back in the day I used to hate touching knobs for that reason. One little tweak would ruin a sound. Nowadays though I’m not too worried about it.

What’s te difference between the after dark and sk2 besides cosmetic differences?
@theblipblox Жыл бұрын
The After Dark and the SK2 share the same synthesis engine, so they sound very similar. The SK2 has an LED light show, where the After Dark shows modulation parameters on the LEDs. The SK2 has a few more built-in melodies and some goofiness in the drum samples.

Honestly this seems really fun and I love how it creates so many sequences so fast. Seems like a great tool to find inspiration quickly when you're stuck.

how easy is it to create and upload your own melodies?

Is there a way to increase the volume on just the drums? On my son's blipblox the drums are very hard to hear. Thank you.

Great video. Would be good to sync this with other synths/drum machines. Is that even possible?

Is it single note polyphonic when connected to a keyboard? If so is it better hooked up to a sequencer to avoid that staccato type feel?

The buttons show ATTACK and RELEASE... labels for the missing parts of a waveform are DECAY (perhaps DELAY?) and SUSTAIN (perhaps RESONANCE?). Their FAQ says, "...play your own sequences via the MIDI IN port..." and probably that can be the sound source you are manipulating. I will be putting microcontroller PWM through the MIDI, probably monotonal, square wave. I might look back here some day.
@CharlesFerraro Жыл бұрын
@@bob-ny6kn my guess is it’s monophonic. Especially if these devices are analog.

Whats are the differences of the 3 Blipbloxes?

Generally, we recommend the SK2 for kids under 12. The SK2 has the same sound profile and advanced synth features as the After Dark, but features a fun, colorful design. Arrows illustrate the signal flow and each control is labeled. While you can use the SK2 in “studio mode,” it defaults to kid-friendly features such as an LED light show and fun melodies and drum sounds. The After Dark is more suited to older kids (although it is still safety certified for younger kids), adults, and kids with previous experience with the Blipblox. With its labeled controls, and advanced filters, it functions more like a traditional synth. Instead of a light show, the After Dark shows you which synth parameters are selected. For someone who is just playing around, those features would probably not be as important. In terms of melodies, both products can be upgraded over MIDI sysex to include the melodies that come with the other product. If you are interested in tech/synth specs there is a side-by-side chart at the bottom of this page: blipblox.com/pages/what-is-the-blipblox
