I really enjoyed this video. I have a hard time finding these tiny out-of-the-spotlight games that you seem to be in the loop for, and I find that most channels that highlight smaller games don't go small enough and end up featuring a bunch of games that I already know. The opening preamble was exactly what I wanted to hear. A lot of videos seem to be a race to the bottom with who can be the loudest, most agro; sometimes I wonder if they even care what they're playing. This selection of games was like Really interesting to me. Love these kinda more obscure and often weird titles in general, so I'm all for more episodes of this. I quite enjoyed this format, with my one suggestion being something you're likely going to do anyway, being a succinct intro bit about the basic concept of the show. Honestly, I like shows that are showcases for overlooked and underappreciated games, such as this, Extra Credits' occasional Games You Might Not Have Tried, Super Bunnyhop's Games From My Inbox, and the late TotalBiscuit's 15 Minutes of Game and WTF is... series. Steam is such a nightmare to wade through that having these shows that point games out is fantastic, and I would love to see these as a regular series on your channel, be it weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, depending on the work investment required.
@TheNosyarg135 жыл бұрын
I actually loved this. I'll honestly watch these as fast as you can put them out. So many great and/or interesting games come out all the time, OR were out at different times during a generational peak in interest. I'm just as keen to learn about the new interesting stuff as I am to see why some of them are interesting to YOU based on your contextual experience with when the games you enjoy came out and what was happening around that time (like your DriftForce example). So like heck yeah more of these.

I like the format quite a lot! I think that this sort of series could serve as effective pilots of sorts for longer video essays covering the games you find, like, maybe if people seem to express interest in a game you cover on Blips, you could take that as a sign that it would be a good choice to cover in a longer video essay. But it's also obviously really good to cover games that are interesting, but don't really have enough meat on them to merit their own video-- in this particular episode that game would appear to be DriftForce. I think I'd prefer to have about one Blips episode to one longer video essay, a (ideally) neat 1:1 ratio between the two so that Blips doesn't dominate the channel, but rather exists alongside the more in-depth essays, and they're nicely complementing one another. With that in mind, it could also be cool to put continuity between the two occasionally, for instance, if you plan to give a larger, more thematically dense game by a particular developer its own video, you could feature a smaller game from that same developer in the immediately preceding "Blips" episode, and then say something like, "and this developer also made the game that will be featured in..." But I'd figure you probably want to establish this series as its own thing, first, before thinking that far ahead. Overall, pretty good, I can definitely see room for improvement, but yeah, good stuff.
