Since I did a lot of low key racing, I always sail high, nearly close-hauled (cant help it, but trying other angles more). Yes, cute little gaft rigged at 4:38. You have the best anchorages, just amazing.

Yes a fabulous little boat. Yes that extra bit of apparent wind is great. I'm not intentionally sailing into the wind but I'm sure 85 - 90 % of my sailing is with wind forward of the mast. And I've realized that I'm having more difficulty setting the sails down wind. I'm sure its down to lack of practice. But I can only sail when I have time off work so i need to sail with the vinds I've got. Its just so weird the percentage is that much in the favor of upwind sailing. I'd expect a small favor towards upwind since the boat is moving forward, and the fact that I'm located on the west coast means that the wind often has a westerly component in it in the summer season. Well i like it so i won't complain. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ill watch your next video to morrow. Now I need to rest. Best regards from Jarle

@@StemtoSternSailing If you set a camera up to film the sails, it will help you see what adjustments you make. I am using an old phone as a gps unit so I can create polar graphs for my boat. To do that I need wind angle and wind velocity ( True wind) as well as sailing angle and boat velocity. For me, its a good exercise to hold a steady compass angle. I suspect in the fjords, wind angles would change a lot.

I have an old phone i can use for that 👍 but you are right the vinds are very changing in the fjords. But thanks for the tip. I'm definitely going to trye it out. Thanks. Best regards from Jarle

Hei Jarle.Kjempefin seilas.
@StemtoSternSailing11 ай бұрын
Takk for tipset. Mh Jarle. Ps takk for at du ser på. Og hjertelig takk for kommentaren 👍
