Also, look at the followspot lighting. They wanted to feature each of themselves during every song. I didn't run followspot for this show, but look at how each brother steps out of the light to let the other do solo. Yeah, you don't get that kind of cooperation so each get the spotlight. They were fantastic.

Autotune, and the rest of the technology is a very small part of the problem. The music industry in the United States and globally is rigged. For instance, compare, and no talent puppet like Taylor Swift to people like Karen Carpenter, Diana Ross, Linda Ronstadt, Tina Turner, Loretta Lynn, Etta James, etc. you’ll have your answer. The corporate criminal elite were on the music industry and everything else are just trying to put out as much product as they possibly can. These people are the ruling class, and they are the reason why everything, not just music sucks now.

What is so great about the music back then was the accompaniment of the instruments in the background. The Righteous Brothers used an orchestra to enhance their music and many musicians then did the same. I grew up listening to the Righteous Brothers and Motown Town R & B and Rock and Roll.

The songs of the era reflected the ethos of that long lost society. Respect. Humility. Steadfastness. Hope. Slow reveals in all aspects of life. Poise and discovery. Today the children at 13 are sated and tired of life. I would burst from my bed every morning filled with wonder and anticipation. Every sound I heard , every person I saw , every word I spoke , every interaction in the classroom and the sport field was a joy. The music contained the same dimensions. I am reminded of that much underrated classic from the Bee Gees - We Must Have Lost The Road. Peace and blessings to everyone.

That’s what Ebay, Goodwill, yard sales, etc are for. I gave about 300 albums from the late 60’s through the 80’s to a vintage shop in the mid 2000’s as I was downsizing, getting old, etc. Music from many genres. Regret that decision everyday! Record stores were a great place to hang out back then, ie: browsing or searching though the aisles and rows of records, meeting new people, talking music, purchasing both old and new music, finally finding that album you have been hunting for forever……Good memories!

When Bill was picked to sing the lead, Bobby asked Phil Spector what he was suppose do while Bill sang. Spector's response was "take your money to bank". Spector knew it was going to be a hit.

The song was written for them by Mann and Weil ... no question of who would sing which part.. Specter (producer) chose to lean it heavily to Bill, which, although a good artistic choice, annoyed both of the 'brothers' because they had always sung equally, even though they would switch off the lead.

They were singing in a club in Orange County, CA and AF marines from the El Toro Marine Corps base were at the club and they stood up after the song was over and yelled, “that’s righteous brothers”. That’s how they got their name. It was at a club that was an AF club and when they first went on stage, they were boo’d, but their singing made all the difference.

I’ll be 80 in May, but 4:45 I never get tired of listening to the music of the “old days”. I still have my record rack with all my 45 RPM records from those days. My kids have promised to keep it in the family. My daughter’s friend gave me a portable record player to play them on. The sound quality is not the best, but the memories are always wonderful!

Trivia from the ole folks….they were at a black soul club in Detroit or Chicago and sang this before it was recorded and went national. They didn’t even have a name. A group of Marines was listening. As they finished, one Marine stood and shouted…that was RIGHTEOUS, brothers. As they say…the rest is history. Just wanna point out…no vocal gimmicks, no sound mixing, no synthesizers or blending Just to VERY TALENTED singers. Soul has no skin color.

Today there are only a few artists that have that same feeling when they sing…James Arthur, NF, Chris Stapleton, Teddy Swims, Benson Boone, Lauren Spencer Smith, Noah Kahan, Morgan Wallen, Ed Sheeran at times, etc. My father every Sunday on his day off would spend his morning with me in the living room spinning me around dancing with my feet on his to his old 45 records. One of my favorite memories of my father which I have only a few of from my childhood and now that he’s gone. We lost him by his own hands after fighting brain cancer back in 2012 and whenever I miss him I turn back to the very music we danced around to.
