In this video I bunch two cigars and wrap one, using left-over scraps from previous rolls, using the offset binder method of bunching short filler.

Bliss your amazing. Awesome Channel and its cool to see someone who isn't an in your face streamer or a channel with the standard hit the subscribe button mantra you hear at the front and end of the video. Its always excellent craftsman who i have found to be replying. I grew up in Tamaqua Pa with a large number of close relatives living in the Mennonite portion of town some practicing some just liking the environment for a family. I now live in AL and after some years i was experiencing some difficulties with the stress of the speed of large cities. I turned a floor of the home into a place where i could preform the tasks and create the things i loved to make. Something that has been quite difficult for me has been finding produces where i was even able to contact the farm as i keep running into places that sell their entire yields to corporates manufactures. To the degree it took 2 separate farmers markets and i had to find someone who knew someone else to even find milk to acquire neat. Where do you get your supplies? no smokeshops here no cigar "lounges" have them, the only one i ever saw is no longer open and it was about 20 years ago they had an in house roller. @@BlissCigarCo

@@forrest24272 Well I reckon it's similar with tobacco. The really good brands either grow all their own; or the good farms sell all their stuff to one or two big companies. Then the farms that don't necessarily make the greatest leaf sell it to places that you CAN buy from, like wholeleaftobacco.com, leafonly.com, and totalleafsupply.com. Although you can occasionally get some good leaf from those places, of course. As for me I've worked up personal connections through the years and am able to get a pound or two here or there of pretty decent leaf. But it took about ten years of hustling and cultivating personal relations to get to that place.

There’s something really soothing about these videos and I’m not sure what it is. By the way, as somebody who’s pretty new in the cigars, what would be the benefit of having chopped filler and a double binder? Isn’t most of the flavor from the wrapper and chops filler make it not burn as well with flaky ash?
@BlissCigarCo7 ай бұрын
The main benefit is that I'm not wasting tobacco. The chopped filler is scraps from previous long-filler (unchopped) rolls. The fact that it's chopped doesn't have to make it burn poorly, though the ash may be more flaky, yes.

I make my own rolling tobacco from whole leaf tobacco. The audio makes it sound like your burley tobacco leaves are really dry and yet they appear perfectly moist enough and pliable. I made a couple of cigars from burley in the past and they turned out alright. I was basically making cigars and then finely slicing them with a thick razor blade to get the desired fine rolling tobacco, but I recently got a decent quality tobacco shredder although the width is 0.8mm which is not really fine enough but it saves me a lot of time slicing the tobacco by hand (and my eyesight is getting really poor these days). I went through a learning curve figuring out how to make my own rolling tobacco and started off with a cheap hand cranked tobacco slicer (8mm) which lasted a little while and then the crank handle bolt snapped and the gears very quickly started to slip. I went on to buy a couple of different types of cigar cutters which kind of worked but I wasn't able to cut the slices of the 'cigars' thin enough for my rolling tobacco. The slicing with a thick razor blade worked very well in terms of fine-ness of tobacco but was like 45 minutes to an hours work to make a weeks worth of rolling tobacco. Making my own tobacco has saved me an absolute fortune in taxes and basic cost. Like 50 grams of rolling tobacco costs £33 here in the UK, whilst 8 kilos of whole leaf tobacco (2kg virginia and 6kg burley) costs me now £135 with postage from Germany (£16.80 per kilo or maybe 850 - 900 grams with the discarded leaf stems). I'm supposed to pay taxes on the home made tobacco I smoke, but what the government doesn't know can't hurt them lol. If I couldn't buy whole leaf tobacco, I would probably turn to vaping and make my own vape juice using nicotine from Nicotiana Rustica (aztec tobacco) which I grow on my windowsills and is around 10% nicotine.
@BlissCigarCo10 ай бұрын
Yeah sometimes the leaves in my video sound more dry than they are; but I do roll very dry. Filler should just be able to flex without breaking. As for burley, I don't use it. It's not really a cigar tobacco, more of a cigarette one. I use cigar tobaccos such as habano, criollo, corojo, things like that. Yeah it's amazing how expensive tobacco is some places. Actually even the filler leaf I use just doubled in price.
@bigbasil190810 ай бұрын
@@BlissCigarCo Ah I see. I think I have some habano seeds. I have grown a few types of tobacco on my windowsills but it was a while since I germinated the seeds (I have some tobacco plants growing that have lasted a few years and I have lost track of which was which, apart from the rustica tobacco which has the green/yellow flowers and the round seed pods lol).

@BlissCigarCo10 ай бұрын
@@StonedAlone You can use any kind of quality cigar wrapper leaf in your blunts. If you use something dark and chocolately like habano maduro that will give you a different effect than something light and fruity like Connecticut Shade. Then there are all kinds of cigar wrappers in the middle of those: Cameroon, Indo Sumatra, etc. I prefer a sort of darkish Habano and a lightish CT Shade, just because I don't like inhaling very strong wrapper like maduro. It's hard to recommend something to you, because the stuff I use is like $60 a pound, and what if you don't like it? Then you've wasted $60. You could try the 1/4 pounds at leafonly.com. By the way, I roll a lot of backwoods-type stuff on my TikTok, but have to use tobacco there instead of green because of TikTok rules. www.tiktok.com/@cigar_roller?lang=en

I've been wondering for years now. Is it common to inhale a cigars smoke? Or does one just taste and not inhale the cigars smoke?
@BlissCigarCo Жыл бұрын
Inhaling cigar smoke is not a thing. It isn't done. For one thing it's not the same kind of tobacco as cigarettes and has a completely different pH. The nicotine is absorbed through the mouth rather than the lungs.
