Yeah also young kids today can hardly go back to old nostalgic titles like this. Max and boys grew up in the 80s and experienced the 80s, 90s and 2000s the golden OG ages of video gaming so picking up an old classic is extra for them hence its easy for them to have a blast

Sports games are at their best when : - they prone couch multiplayer fun over nonsensical team management and trading stuff - their gameplay is quick and easy to pick up like they should always be judging by the huge target they're aiming for (the casual market), but skill can make the difference between the players and the masters - some unrealistic but hype stuff can happen in-game to various degrees in order to keep the players entertained and engaged because unexpected but funny things keep your playing for more I love games like Mario Strikers for these reasons.

Eyeshield 21 is the best sports and football manga and is a MUST READ for anyone who enjoys the NFL Blitz games. The anime is okay, but the running animation looks a bit funny and it only tells half the story, but definitely check it out in one form or another.

the only saving graces of Eyeshield 21 were the supporting cast (Sena just sucks as a protagonist) and Murata's excellent art in the Manga. It's one of his breakout hits and we wouldn't have One Punch Man with it.

NFL Blitz 2012 on X360/PS3 is the HD remaster of the original if you can find it. Newer versions take out the illegal hits and NFL teams.

Blitz 2001 on N64 is my favorite video game of all time. It is so much fun to play with a friend. Heinz Ward is the best reciever for the Steelers, possibly in the whole NFL. The true GOAT.

I would love to see Max and the crew play the Blitz The League games. For those who don't know Blitz the League and it's sequel Blitz: The League 2 are Midway's M-Rated spiritual successor to the NFL Blitz games after Midway lost the NFL license and let's just say this M-Rated spiritual successor duology to the fan-favorite American Football game series pretty much takes it's M-rating and runs with it all the way I'm talking about extremely brutal hits that can if you're lucky/unlucky depending on who does the brutal hit lead to various injuries ranging from a simple Broken Foot/Fingers all the way to Ruptured Testicles/Scrotum and if a brutal hit leads to an injury depending on the severity of said injury the player who got said injury can various penalties ranging from being out for several plays all the way to being out for 1 or more seasons and each injury is signaled via a very graphic cutscene of said injury happening, along with this amped up violence, we have extremely strong language, drug use(in the first game you could use illegal performance enhancing drugs as a quick fix to heal players hit with minor injuries), and strong sexual content/partial nudity. And both games have a full-fledged campaign mode that plays out like a sports-themed political/crime drama and reveal the world of the Blitz: The League games is a world where instead of the NFL the Pro American Football Promotion is a promotion called simply The League which is essentially the NFL but filled with corruption, and the regulations are less officially mandated and more loosely given suggestions.

NFL Blitz is gratuitous violence, like NFL Hitz (Hockey) and NBA Jam (Basketball). Later versions of Blitz reduced the unnecessary violence, like late hits after the plays. American NFL football in 2022 is a lot tamer with new restrictions every year as Dustman319 points out.
