*Today's Suggestions!* *1. Did the steam generator become more viable?* As far as I know, no. Its best use is still heat deletion for hot steam vents. Your cool steam vent won't work for it. *2. Research.* I recommend researching deodorizers and the water sieve next. Algae terrariums produce polluted water now, so the polluted oxygen will build up in your base slightly faster. *3. Food.* I see a problem coming: you dug into a very hot biome, and now the heat is leaking into your base. It's going to start affecting your mealwood soon if you're not careful. Also, please store your food in carbon dioxide. You'll be wasting resources otherwise. Hauling food into the ration box next to the printer pod won't prevent it from spoiling any more than if it were just sitting on the ground. *4. Power.* I don't recommend starting coal generators just yet since they produce a lot of heat and you have no way to combat that or isolate it from the rest of the base.

Ration boxing food doesn't reduce spoilage more than the ground, but it does centralize it all in one location.

Once you have access to an ice biome, you can build a makeshift "freezer room" next to your kitchen without power or vents: . Build the freezer room foundation (6_horizontal + 4_vertical). . Research mesh tiles, then "carpet" the normal floor with water flowing metal. . Build a ration box in the middle (touching 2 mesh tiles). . Set x2 Ice Sculptures (it will melt becoming cold water). -> The cold water cools down the mesh tiles that cools down the air and food. [You need to micromanage the creation of new ice sculptures; but this is safer than setting storage compactors full of ice (that may melt "explosively" creating a flood).

Does the algea terrarium not produce polluted oxygen??

@ Joney Macaroni: In the lastest update (Ranch mk II) the algae terrarium requires algae and water, consumes CO2 and produces O2 and polluted water. -> THEN if you do NOT bottle and take away the polluted water, it slowly release polluted oxigen.

I saw people using the Ranch area as Storage area, because it's a large empty space and the creatures can't eat from the storages, only of the feeders, it's a more efficient way of using your space and you can also put some portraits in there for deco purposes.

I will say as an avid watcher of your videos and also of a greater age than your average viewer- opening my perspective on types of bread (I lived in Paris briefly) was a beautiful adventure, but I also can't digest most whole seeds, can't eat any nut product, and prefer even my sprouted grains to be milled. Bread is good in many forms other than white, no fruit or hippie-stuff required. That being said, Blitz is great, in ALL forms, some nuttiness to be expected.

Groundskeeper is the job for keeping things cleaned up and you can set the priorities to auto-set to their jobs in the jobs menu

@Blitz, they've added Radiant pipes into this patch for both gas and liquid pipes. You'll want to make them out of Tungsten and Wolframite. They'll help you cool your base and water much more quickly than the old drip system we had to use.

Early game I went, Brute Force Refinement, Internal Combustion, Automation, Generic Sensors to put my early base on 2 coal generators and a smart battery switching them. That keeps heat down, controls CO₂ and limits wasted power and coal.

@blitz just a FYI it may have been said already but when you make a new room if you only dig the top 2 rows of squares out of the 4 they can make the roof without you having to dig above it then you just dig out the rest once the roof is done

I always put my bristle blossoms in my bottom right corner because they like CO2 atm. Works well and lets you leave co2 in base

hey blitz, when you can use mesh tiles instead of airflow tiles. The mesh tiles let air AND water thru, that way if anyone makes a mess or you find a water puddle above you, you won't have to pump it around if you need the power elsewhere.

Here is my rebuttal to "Why would you put pumpkin seeds in bread?". Why would you eat pumpkin seeds?! They are awful to eat, they taste terrible, they attack you with sharp spears made of pumpkin seeds, and don't even get me started on the texture. Steam generators requires steam pressure (at a higher temperature below) to be at about 220C, your COOL steam vents don't put out steam that hot. the HOT steam vent puts out steam at 500C, so that would easily be hotter than you need, and could possibly even be recycled for a second run or so, probably if you use automation though.

The problem is they need pressure as well but don't contain the pressure when not working. this is why they don't work for power. If they didn't let steam through unless actively creating power then they would be viable.
