Despite what ignorant eco-activist might tell you Forest fires are natural occurrence and can inspire fresh growth by clearing out old dead things that are blocking new things from growing Controlled Burns are healthy for forests and stop out of control forest fires

Forest fires would also help with invasive species. Burn out the overgrown. But there are too many people in the way to allow for smaller, cleansing fires so we're stuck with removing overgrowth ourselves. Lots of the vine issues would be less of a problem if people simply cut them at the base when they spot them, for example, covering telephone poles instead of complaining about seeing it everywhere. It takes time to cover a tree and if we just cut them at the bottom the whole vine (above the cut) would die and save the tree. Won't kill the plant, but it would take time to regrow. I do that with porcelain berry when I can reach them without trespassing.

Horsefires just sound cruel. But whatever you have to sacrifice for the harvest. OTOH, ask any Buerue of Land Management or Smoke Jumper and they will tell you that not only are forest fires part of a natural cycle (that we've disrupted) but controlled burns are good for both preventing major ecological damage as well as promoting growth. Hell, some pine trees don't even release their pinecones (and seeds) until something hot comes along and opens them up.

It's not activists who said "no" to fires, it was the government. Those "ignorant eco-activists" are the ones who pushed for control burns.

It actually is biology in many deer species both female and males have antlers and while there is often differences in the size both still have them. Sex is complex by nature meaning sexual dimorphism is not always consistent
