If you are confused about what happened the souls in the Mathematician, who had been communicating with the Trebum this whole time, emboldened by the efforts you gave, sacrificed themselves to destroy the Eternal cylinder. You defeated him enough times they could take over and use their remaining fragments one final time. They gave you a goodbye because they knew they would die. And we don't know who they are because they used every bit of energy they had given to you for it. ;_;

It mentions how the trebum called out and met the twhemhalla but also alerted the cylinder which controlled earth as of then and at the end the humans and narrator finally controlled the math matucan hence the hand coming out of the chest and they destroyed the cylinder

If you didn’t know when you kill a servant of the cylinder you can get 1-2 mutations as in mutations they make a random mutation become permanent and they are glowing orange shards

Oh man, you skipped the ending cinematic. :( Basically, the Cylinder already consumed Earth and Mankind before coming to the Trebum's world. The Narrator was one of the army of ghosts, one of the souls of Mankind that were slowly being consumed by the Cylinder.

I could easily see this entire game having its conceptual origin in a child playing with a pencil (the cylinder) and a piece of string (the trewhaala). The trebums would be motes of dust, running from the pencil.
