i think that the biggest mistake that the solar tweaks creators did was allow free access to all lunar cosmetics and branding it like lunar. if they just didnt do the thing with the cosmetics and branded it to not be like lunar, yk, different logo, different launch layout, etc. then they probably wouldve been in the clear

I was an owner of a cracked lunar client which got pretty popular at 2021. We were also giving free cloaks as well as custom ones too, around December of that month, me and the other owner got a msg from Psychi wanting to talk. The other owner wanted me to talk to him and so i did, he did the same thing. He wanted us to shutdown our client and threatened to sue us if we don't. We were like 14, so we panicked and we didn't have any other option other than scraping the whole project. (sorry if my english is bad)

@@peace.divinity meh fuck copyright, all anti-TOS and anti-licensing software must be hosted in russia and creators affiliated with russia. russia legalized piracy and been stepping on copyright lately which is a good move and the right step of technology, copyright and intellectual property laws have been only helping the richest of all niches and let them be free to be as abusive as they can to their customers. imagine the game industry without piracy, if you want to actually have some fun you will need to pay ever increasing values for less features and DLCs. piracy increases when the prices are too high or the product dont worth buying. about copyright problems is just take disney and nintendo as main problem, TOS and licensing makes it so limit the users to whatever the creators decide. things are more and more leaning to free and open source (FOSS) and is funny that theres a license (GNU) license that makes so everyone that modify the software must release as open source, so is basically an anti-license/copyright license. theres many proprietary software using GNU license and we just need to decompile the programs and expose so we force them to be open source by law. open source will win.

Solar tweaks was imo what was making lunar playable, having freelook on hypixel, "raw mouse input" like Badlion (in 1.8.9, lastests versions haves it natively), custom themes and things that weren't possible on lunar client at all

This client was most definitely breaking copyright laws. Not just terms of service. I'm glad it was taken down, because this sort of stuff in the software space kills projects.
