i wanted to put in a little bit about Aphmau: when i was younger, when youtubers like captain sparkles, skydoesminecraft, dantdm were popular, Aphmau was one of the youtubers I watched. her content was MUCH MUCH different. She used to tell incredibly intricate stories through her role-playing series. They weren't masterpieces but her team was incredibly creative, and they used so many different outlets to tell their stories. Without old Aphmau, minecraft role-playing would not be what it is today. When minecraft started declining, and her views just weren't pulling anymore, I remember she took a very long break and completely abandoned ALL of her role-play series. Then she came out with this new, child content. She did it for money. That's all this is. It was honestly upsetting to see someone who's art i valued and supported completely abandon their years of work to sell out

Okay so I’m not going crazy! I remember I was in late middle school in 2020 and because of Covid I watched an Aphmau video like every day. And one day, I noticed her newest video was SO different. So much more babyish. I had been watching her for years and I loved her channel-the drama, the plots, everything was really entertaining and fun but not insulting to watch! But then in 2020, she just… Pivoted. It honestly broke my heart. From time to time, I still go back and rewatch MyCraft or something for the nostalgia and the better times. Aphmau was one of the biggest influences that made me want to do Minecraft role play KZbin stuff too when I was little. I kind of mourn the fact that I can’t still watch her as I’ve grown up. And don’t get me wrong, there was always some degree of cringe to her content, but I swear 2020 happened and girlie turned up the cringe to 11.

When I was little and just starting watching youtube. I really liked watching those videos of ghosts caught on camera and conspiracy theories. The youtube's manual review system just shows that this isn't a problem with their algorithm, it's a problem with their ethics. They are directly ordering employees to censor who ever complains about these issues and ignore the original nsfw content farms (most likely these moderators are poor people from india, china, etc so they have no reason to not comply). God knows what goes in the mind of their higher ups. Google's change of slogan from "Don't be evil" to “Do the right thing” is a sign of how things are turning around in there. They are getting increasingly more supportive of insane sociopathic monsters like the guys at the CCP and of course less and less concerned with the damage they cause to their customers, employees and anyone else in their way of profit and control. This website is controlled by EVIL, and this is just the largest and most obvious evidence. My younger cousins watch KZbin a lot, they aren't at iPad kid level or anything and they usually watch it on their TV so their parents or any other adult should be able to hear/see if they're watching something they shouldn't, but I'm still terrified that this is going to happen to them. I am currently a young teen and I am most definitely a victim of this content. I remember when I was younger that I watched Aphmau a lot and it seemed fine at first. Then all those weird and completely inappropriate videos using hers and other content creators’ characters started popping up on my fyp. Since then, I’ve developed an addiction to smut and have only recently begun making progress in recovering from it. This kind of content ruined a huge part of my childhood, took away my ignorance, and contributed to my mental health decline. It is absolutely a huge problem and needs to be stopped. I can only hope that kids that are the age that I was might receive better parental guidance to help them avoid seeing this sort of content online, but I unfortunately don’t think that that will be the case. To any other person who has gone through this sort of thing, especially at a young age, I am so sorry and wish nothing but a quick recovery for you. Stay safe out there ❤

Thank you so much. I have been banning my children from specifically YTKids for years and I caution all parents I know to do the same. Most parents have no idea and are surprised. Their go to defense is "But it's made for kids so how could it be bad." Then I take out my phone and show them one of the Elsagate vids in YTkids and they immediately delete the app. Keep up the fantastic work and keep spreading awareness!!! Horror games like Poppy Playtime, Bendy and the Ink Machine, and FNAF, was all readily available so that my sibling new every character. I’m thirteen now, and when I was around 5-9, I was exposed to things like elsagate. I was interested in it because I loved Frozen things, and I loved watching Frozen related stuff. Due to this and the fact that people create nasty things with my favorite characters, I was exposed to sexual and graphic things, too. I’m glad I’m not the only one, but also extremely sad that I’m not the only one at the same time. It’s really ruined my mental state to a worrying extent. I’m still little, but not I’m aware enough to know what to avoid. It’s really upsetting to know KZbin wouldn’t do anything against any of this for probably a long while.

That kept going on for years, and my life has gotten so much weirder bc of those videos. As someone who has babysat a kid who watches this type of content before: THANK YOU for shedding more light on the topic and bringing awareness to it. There was this 6 year old girl I babysat for very briefly, and all she did was watch these type of youtube kids slop content with VERY inappropriate themes. The absolute horror on my face when this little 6 YEAR OLD was talking to me about how "Bluey from Garten of Banban murder Pomni to sleep with Red!!! He tied up Pomni!!" (or whatever random characters it was I genuinely don't remember) I asked her to show me what video she was talking about and yeah, it was like softcore p*rn and torture being done to Garten of Banban and Amazing Digital Circus characters. I tried telling her to not watch those videos anymore but this kid would freak out, like genuine full on panic attack, if you took her phone away. I eventually moved away so I no longer babysit for her, but I genuinely feel so bad for that poor kid. I know she is going to grow up with all sorts of issues because of the disgusting and disturbing ai slop she consumes 24/7. KZbin NEEDS to do something about this, because the next generation of kids growing up on this content are all going to be actually brain broken and need serious help.

Instead of letting kids watch stuff on the internet, y'all should always monitor what they're viewing. I also think y'all should replace the videos that come from KZbin, with actual classic cartoons that are not only kid-friendly, but are also educational and teach them good morals. Examples of shows are Max and Ruby, Dora The Explorer, and the Mid 2010's 3D animated Mickey Mouse show. I know these are really outdated cartoons, but if I were a parent, I'd rather show my kids these, than whatever the hell people are conjuring up on KZbin.

When i was young I was suggested nsfw vidoes from youtube. Things like "Bad M": a video where Mario r3pes his own brother. And really weird minecraft nsfw thumbnails/clickbait. From the age of 6, I slowly got obsessed with nsfw content. I was only a CHILD. That messed me up mentally. I became addicted to the internet from such a young age. I cannot believe that with an app labled as "youtube kids" theres NSFW content being shoved to kids. Thats vile. And for a quick buck too. I do not want kids to have the same addictions I had. They deserve so much better. We need more StampyCats, PopularMmos, and DANTDMs. I feel terrible for the children today.

As someone (me) who has grown up through abuse. My family being s*xually abused and physically, not to mention being dr*gged, this is absolutely disgusting. From the amount of trauma I've grown up with and knowing that this is now being spread is just terrible. Minecraft was the first game I've ever grown up playing and still play to this day. When I was around 4-6 years old, I used to watch KZbin on a big screen in the living room. The content I was watching included things like nudity, violence, mutilation etc. yet I was drawn to it - I was a child drawn to the shock value, the unknown and ''forbidden''. At one point my parents caught me watching this content and eventually manually checked in on what I was consuming but the damage had already been done. I was desensitized to violence and eventually developed a porn addiction (actively seeking out even more explicit content, luckily I have long overcome it) due to the prolonged exposure to soft pornography on these ''kids channels''. Heck, the videos weren't even in english, it was the russian side of youtube , this is an issue that can be found in content of ALL LANGUAGES. And it has been an issue for years, many, many years yet it's being ignored.

I highly suggest getting family link on Google on their phone and locking their phone down like Fort Knox like I did with my kids years ago. My kids cannot sneeze without me knowing about it on those phones and I would highly suggest keeping you kids away from them and if they’re gonna watch KZbin kids, it has to be downstairs in the living room where you can be watching it too or you can be listening to it. My kids are only allowed to watch the crew and Aphmau. I do not trust anybody else the content on KZbin and KZbin kids is horrific And it’s just not safe for kids that’s why they didn’t have kids until about 10 to 12 years old.
