Safety first. Worked with a guy once that not only didn’t wear is harness right but refused to hook up to the anchor when I was the operator of the high lift so no work got done at that time since I refused to take him up. He got written up while I took someone else up. Hated working with idiots who disregarded safety precautions. Your lucky to have smart help.

I was in So. Ca when the Walker River took out Hwy 395 on New Years 1997 flood. It took 6 months or more to fix road. Late spring might get interesting. The back country will be a mess this summer with flooded trails and downed trees. Wish you guys well.

Was thinking of the Ozymandias quote with all that snow. With no one to clear it, in one season, it could have destroyed a lot of that town. Give it a few years and nothing would remain. The weight of all those guys on the roof will seriously contribute to the damage caused by the excessive weight of the snow. You need to figure out how to remove an equivalent weight of snow, before you let someone go onto the roof. Maybe have the roof setup/structure set up to do quick and sloppy snow removal, then a guy can clean it up.

I noticed the big storm drain early on in the video. Would it be legal to melt the snow and run the water into the storm drain? They use big snow melters back east, such as the Snow Dragon. But they're diesel fired, I bet they'd be against the law in California.

Theres actually a lot of rentals in mammoth. Such a service industry town, I don’t live ther but I spend lots of time there and have my whole life winter and summer, I always see for rent signs when Iam in town. Not to mention if you work for the resort 1-4 properties they have employee housing. I lived in them winter 08’. It was like 640$ a month back then to be in a two bedroom apartment. They take a portion of rent out of each weeks paycheck back then.

You seriously, Seriously need to look at videos here on KZbin on how they do deep snow removal on top of roofs over in Japan. It’s a hell of a lot faster than doing it by hand where you guys are doing it. Don’t get me wrong, they do a certain amount of it by hand, but the bulk of it they don’t. It’s too hard to explain how they do it and what they use it’s better to just go watch it. I can tell you they saw it, but that’s really minimizing how they do it.
