It's true that asmon's community isn't the only one that exists within the game, but i've played dead mmo's before and they do eventually die out overtime because the other existing player base aside the ones content creators bring in eventually lose interest in the game for multiple reasons and eventually leave the game making it hard for developers to continue supporting it. You may not like or agree with what content creators have to say about the game but you would be simply in denial to think that they are not a huge factor in driving a massive new player base to the game which ultimately leads to more people purchasing monthly game subs, the game itself if they don't own a copy and purchasing in store items which funds the games further development.

I don't normally comment like this but I've wanted to for a while.. Having worked at Blizzard for 11 years of my life, I can see why some staff are angry. They are worried, and genuinely upset. At least I hope they are... As a Game Master, whenever I was interacting with Players, and they were upset with something. I'd take as much time as possible to understand this and act as a voice of the player for the developers. Sadly now, I think most staff at Blizzard know that the Blizzard of old is long gone, and this new Blizzard just continue getting it wrong, time and time again. The result? Anger, lashing out, frustration, worry, sadness. It's such a shame to see. This is one of the reasons I moved on. I just lost all faith in the company. I wanted to remember it for the good times, not to suffer through the bad. Sadly the majority of staff who are still passionate for the game, either have no influence on it, don't understand the overall community, or just feel so disconnected and lost that they've given up. I really wish Blizzard the best of luck but I fear it's too late. Asmon, Preach, Bellular. You three kept retail alive during the toughest times and Blizzard need to acknowledge you, but instead... look at what's happening.. 😔 Sorry for rant, I'm done. Oh and by the way, this tweet was disgraceful and unprofessional, I don't condone it in any way.

After seeing this I honestly feel bad for Asmongold. He's dedicated his life and career to Blizzard and their game. We all know that all of his opinions about the game come from passion and care for their product and service. Is he only allowed to have good things to say in order for him to not be an asshole? So what, does he become an asshole for having negative things to say and providing constructive criticism? Let's look at it this way.. If there is one thing I value in the people around me and friendship in general it's being called out and held accountable for when I've done a mistake or overstepped. That way I know people care enough about me to want the best for me, even if it means hurting my feelings or saying mean things. It's called being real. The same principal can be applied here, and if it makes Asmongold an asshole for caring, trying to help, supporting the game even when they shit on him then I wanna be an asshole too if that what it takes.

I mean, Blizzard can mald all they want, but asmon is right. Their design sucks and is easily torn apart, the game is garbage and people are leaving.
@WardenMachinima3 жыл бұрын
@@gd8838 I agree with you, Asmon is right. But what I personally think is the cause of the problem isn't wow as a game itself but it's the philosophy behind it. It's like a great game in a bad state. The game started of as a passion project, it was just some guys in a garage building a dream. The developers didn't care about microtransactions or how much profit could be made of a product but rather a creative pipline where they wanted to make something great for the intended player. But somewhere along the road as the company grew this philosophy changed and the game was no longer a strive to become the best but a product to be sold to the most and keep as many as possible playing.

@UmatsuObossa3 жыл бұрын
I hold them being autistic against them when they ALSO think they should have a say in how all social interactions in the world are allowed to happen while they themselves acknowledge they have an impairment that literally prevents them from properly or fully understanding social interactions.
@vixxcelacea27783 жыл бұрын
@Umatsu Obossa I think this is a very contested idea. Unlike many disorders, autism is very different in that if it didn't exist, a lot of incredible discoveries and creations would of never been made, because it is fundamentally a different way of thinking. It's also unlike many disorders a massive spectrum. You have people that function better than another person directly because of their autism in specific applications. Then you have kids/adults who can't speak and emotionally struggle and can be violent to themselves from excess stimuli. It's a very mixed bag whereas most other disorders are really not advantageous or useful in any application, like ADHD, depression, OCD, anxiety etc. On communication however there are also some social faux paws that are extraneous. People expecting other people to be mind readers is something that people do that is just stupid. Being clear and concise should be the norm, not expectation of thought trains being exactly alike. Normal ways of thinking and communicating seem inefficient in all directions. Sure, some autistics might have issues with the emotional side of communication, because they have difficulty reading emotions through body language, but it's also erroneous to assume that non-autistics are good at communicating, just because it is normal to communicate in that way. Just as it would be equally erroneous to assume that autistics have a better way. I think people can and should be open to discuss topics that they struggle with or are not apart of. It's a good thing to have someone outside looking in, they see things that others can not, just as those inside see what the outside people can not. Sharing of information and interpretation is the cornerstone of communication. That's how people engage in theory of mind and how out of the box thinking can really explore a topic in a way that an echo chamber can not. Shutting people out of a discussion because they have no or a different experience is not advantageous to finding solutions or coming to agreements. There is also the issue that almost all people don't discuss topics of importance with any relevance. Something I do think that most autistics would lean towards is trying to find studies and research on a given topic before diving in. My preferred method of discussion if the topic actually matters/has impact on society is to find scientific data, preferably as up to date as possible and discuss it's findings. Does it confirm any running theories? Does it debunk common notions? Is it in conclusive? Then to engage in personal anecdotes, experiences and theories, including people with hands on experience and those completely removed from it.

I wouldn't feel comfortable supporting a game if I found out their senior devs, not only supported white supremacy, pyramid schemes, people who serve drinks with more ice than drink, or any other near universally horrible thing in their free time, but also promoted it shamelessly on a public platform. If you are a public figure in association with a brand then you don't truly have carte blanche to belch your own private views to the world and expect people not to notice. @@Nukerunin You're right, it SHOULD go without saying that they'd be friendly to all types of people regardless. Unfortunately, that's not always the case, and it can be difficult for LGBTQ+ folk to find spaces that are welcoming to them, especially if they've experienced situations in which someone was initially friendly and then turned toxic the moment they found out the person was queer in some fashion. FCs advertising as LGBT friendly isn't for their own benefit, it's to help those people easily find a space they are welcome in, same as an FC that focuses on Raiding would want to be welcoming to raiders.
