I remember this because we were living in a condo community & no one had shovels to dig the cars out. Gave my husband a broom & dust pan! Also I never remember a storm like that in March.

I vaguely remember seeing this on my local PBS channel growing up in the 1980's.

Dig Al Roker, P.D. (Pre-Diet). Was his local forecasting for WNBC during the Blizzard of 1993 a reason he eventually got put on the "Today Show" as their resident meteorologist?

Looks like the forecasts got worse as the storm got closer to New York.

Shows how long ago this was, they was using a pointing stick during the "AM Weather" program. That 5 day outlook at 6:18 early in week calling for a rain/snow mix and 38 degrees for Saturday proved demonstrably false. Of course later that week the forecasts were revised to reflect the monster that was coming.

This was just a few years before Doppler Radar became commonplace across the U.S.
