people seemed much happier even during a blizzard in the early 90's

I remember the 1993 blizzard like it was yesterday. I was 10 years old in Deposit, New York when we got hammered by that blizzard.

I had a mid 80's Chevy Camera back then. It was parked in front of the house and when the storm was done, the only thing you could see was the top of the radia antenna sticking up out of the snow. Otherwise you never know there was a car buried there!

I was in TN and only 9 at the time, we lost power for a week but I had the time of my life. I miss it, I haven't had enough snow to make a snowball since the 90s.

Same!! I was 5 and my brother was 6. Mom made hotdogs and soup on our wood stove, dad kept the fire going so we were warm. The adults tacked extra blankets up on the doorways to block of the back rooms and we had a big sleepover in the living room. It was a blast for kids

Snowed 3 feet here in Kingsport Tennessee. All radio stations were tuned to same help phone line. People would call in giving their address and needing saving or then People would call in saying they were going to the rescue at that address. It was amazing. My buddy had a new bronco and we had no problems going out but nothing was open and most were stranded.

Snowed about 3 feet in rural central PA. Took 3 days for snow removal to show up. It was too deep and heavy for plow trucks so they had to use big front end bucket loaders one big scoop at a time

I was 2 during the 83 storm, but i do remember the deep snow in my backyard and my parents letting me play in it. I was 11 during the 93 storm and had an absolute blast, football, snow forts, sledding, ice skating on the creek behind my house, good times. I was almost 15 during the 96 storm and had a week and a half off school, and we were completely trapped in our neighborhood, couldn't move, the adults hated it, the kids we're having the best winter ever. Great memories..

I was also 11 during this storm and living in Wayne county (same as the farmer at the end). We rode our sleds off the roof of our house 😂

I lived in Center City Philly when this storm came through. It was unreal to see the whole city just shut down but it was., in a way exciting. Cars were buried up to their roofs in the middle of town and we skied up Broad Street.

5 days before my birthday, 2 weeks off of school. Made well over $100 shoveling and jumped off the side of the Schuylkill county courthouse's wall into a snow drift with friends. Could walk in the street wherever you went. (only option for about 3-5 days.) Peaceful and surreal. If you were one of the people that waited to dig their car out, it wasn't getting out.

Closest winter storm I've seen since was "Snowmageddon". Miss the snow. All it's been, rain and short lived slop...

It kinda crazy that a volcano that erupted 2 years prior caused a minor volcanic winter, scientists believe that that volcano cause this storm to develop

I lived as i 12:21 do now in Knoxville , Tn. . Mid 50's that Friday with the local forcast of rain truning to snow that night. I worked at a car wash that year. Rain killed our buisness that day from that morning till i got off to head to a friends home to play chess while i was schuffing at the chance of snow . Around 11am that day , i asked if i could get of at 1 pm sense not a coustomer one. The answer was noooo , that chemicals needed to be made to build serplus of car cleanig supplies for our wash tunnel .As it turned out that was the best answer i could have gotten as things turned out. IF I HAD LEFT AT ONE THAT AFFERNOON I WOULD HAVE HEADED TO THE CTICO CREEK WILDLIFE AREA, CHEROKEE NATIONAL FORREST. Rain or no i wuld have parked at a trailhead i hiked till after dark . Thankfully i at 6:30 pm arrived at my friends home. Not stranded in that 1993 12th of March nightmare that is was asking for earlier

2:47 when buses were made to last 25-30 years not 12 years
@tritontransport11 ай бұрын
School buses could only legally be driven 10 years and the driver could get inspection waivers to use them for another year or two although it costed a bunch of money to get it but for school busses in PA that was the law. I’m not sure if that’s still a law or not 🤔

I remember Snow drifts up to 5 ft high and temp. At 6 and 7 degrees and thunder with no rain it was snow and the interstates were closed for close to a week. It was great but so many lost there lives that the numbers where in the hundreds over all in The whole United States

I remember snow drifts almost 30 feet high during the blizzard of 77, in Niagara Falls we had a 21 foot drift between my neighbors home and ours. Dad let us walk up to the roof and sled down. Best wishes and stay safe.

I'm a Xer, I was going to Upper Darby High School when this awesome storm happened, we had so many days off that they said we might have to stay in HS longer to make up the days, but we ended up having enough. Man, we had a great time during this blizzard, hell, we had a great time during the 90s. Back when you could be an a-hole and it didn't go viral. 🤣
