Stay warm Pete, these storms is perhaps once in a lifetime for the younger generation. But You and I have seen these before, storms in the 70's, 80's and early 90's that these storms lately. I remember as a kid we used to have WAAAAAY more snow than we do on average these days.

LOL in my chair too funny. You're right...no kidding I get 75mph winds a couple times a year which really makes me mad as I lose some beautiful trees. I just shoveled out my generator...wow it's cold. I'll post that video tomorrow morning. 6 feet of snow was my max 20 years ago. Although the blizzard of 77 drifts were over 20 feet high you could touch single lights. Stay warm...not sure when I should blow snow.

@@maraudermitchelli Hello MM, blow snow anytime, every time, keep it workable, I am 61 and I remember the blizzard of 1978 very well, riding on a snowmobile I looked at power lines that were IN a snow drift, my bedroom was on second floor, and I crawled out the window and rode a drift down to almost ground level, and shoveled out the back door, and a hundred other wild weather memories of that time, seems we had more snow on the average winters day before that , then tapered off every year, we may be getting back to the cycle of BIG SNOW again.

Thanks for the tour. I live 90 miles south of Buffalo in the southerntier, I got sick of sitting in the house and jumped in my Jeep Rubicon and went to my cabin in Allegany county, It was blizzard conditions but the jeep did fine.

Turn the A/C on will help with defrosting. Also if you can get it, I have heated seats in mine. Absolutely totally worth it, and I think mine were just a couple hundred bucks for the passenger and driver side installed.

I used too Drive a line haul running from Syracuse too Rochester & Buffalo and Back too Syracuse NY .. running double 53’S.. it would take me from 4pm till 5am… Oh this ran 6 days a week.. snow.. rain or shine.. We are getting a storm tonight, but it has been hovering around -32 C for about two weeks now. Suppose to warm up this weekend to +2. I am making a sauce, meatballs, and homemade ravioli on Sunday. Think I will take the XMR out this weekend and navigate the snow on our acreage. Would love to see the cat eat through 4ft of snow. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

Im in the market for a cabbed Ranger for my ranch. Trying to decide between the 1000 XP Northstar or trying to swing the extra cost of the 1500 XD Northstar. Don't really need the 1500 it just seems like the cab system is better. I haven't seen one in person yet.

I need to do an update on my Ranger she's just an old reliable machine. I'm totally in on the Ranger 1500 I think Polaris did everything right especially the engine making power at lower RPM and quiet. I'm in the same boat just know if I can justify the cost. Looks like you are having some fun. It's a great video! I plan on buying either the 2025 defender limited or the 2025 trail boss. After doing some reading, it looks like polaris has fixed some issues from past rangers and have also added a 2 year warranty on the new machines. I am really torn between the 2 but it looks like the polaris might be the way to go. What of the 2 machines would you recommend? And why?

Steve, I did a comparison video on this machine when I first bought it a walk around describing the features that I really liked about it. I suggest you watch that video. Also I had a defender on order and I canceled it and went back to a Ranger I recently purchased a Ranger XD 1500 and I’m thrilled with it Can Am makes a great machine, no doubt about that. I love the V2 engine, but on my last defender I had issues with the engine that they couldn’t seem to fix it would fowl the front plug. Don’t get me wrong. I think the road tech engine is amazing and I had that engine on multiple ATVs. Also, I will have my Ranger XD 1500 for a long time. It is an amazing machine so I guess I answered your question I put my money on a Ranger For my last two utility machines ride safe and peace.

I am enjoying your content, I purchase a new 1000 premium in August, wasn't sure if I wanted the xp or the premium but we had a premium at work with tracks and it will go just about anywhere, looks like the tracks might of been good for that storm, I also lean towards the premium because I bought 56 acres and going to use it for work and the lower RPMs might be better, I'm a close. I am shopping now for a UTV - also live in WNY - and am looking at the Polaris 570 Northstar. Is this the 570 or the 1000? I need it to go through mud and snow in the winters as we have a small farm and I pull a manure spreader behind an atv. When it gets too deep, I am hoping to use the Ranger with hydraulic bed for the manure but need to know if the 570 will get through mud/snow on those days. If this was the 570, I will buy it with confidence! BTW, our barn was covered up to the roof fro this storm and we spent Christmas Day on our Kubota tractor digging the horse out. It was an incredible storm!

My daughter is a kate..My SXS is a Ranger 1000 North star Trail Boss which is awesome. I'm not aware that Polaris makes a 570 in a North star which would be full cab heating and air conditioning. The achilles heal of any machine is high centering, which means the tires sink in mud or snow so deep the vehicle looses traction as the all the weight of the machine is supported on the bottom skid plate thus no traction. Typically they will go through anything as long as it is not to deep where the skid plate is scraping then stopping the vehicle. for general use they are amazing I have a older video on buying a SXS you may wish to watch I go into more detail. Kubota is a great tractor I owned own years ago. I hope my reply helps you please discuss this with your dealer and get their opinion. Ride safely btw we owned a horse farm years ago they are a lot of work.

Bill I use half ground beef, and half hot pork sausage out of the skin. I also add a lot of cheese and breadcrumbs. I would make a small batch and fry a small meatball taste and adjust the recipe...my sister does this and it works well. Maybe I'll post a video my meatball recipe...I hope this helps.

Peter, assuming you priced out a Gator before you bought the Ranger; what made you buy the Ranger vs the Gator? I've been waiting forever for JD to offer the Gator with a snowblower, not going to happen. Furthermore, I'm told you have to be an octopus to work the plow on the Gator.

Brendan please watch my other Ranger, Defender, and Gator, Ranger Defender comparison with all three machine in my yard. The Gator was my brothers. I never considered the Gator as it does not come close to the Ranger and Defender for trail riding...especially in rough terrain and hills. My preference is Ranger or Defender. The Gator may be right for you, and my brother but not for me and my use. I hope this helps.

It's a PA reg for their trails. You can not easily do that in NYS DOT requirements.

Brandon that is a tough decision. Both are very good machines and the new defenders are very nice looking. The defender doors are now painted and they come with bigger tires from the factory. Take your time and make your decision...I don't think there is a bad choice. The Ranger has been excellent...try not to think about the oil changes.

I sold my 2017 Ranger and went with the 2022.5 defender limited. The can am is a little more comfortable and quieter than the new Rangers. They are both pretty comparable, you’ll be happy with either machine. My only complaint is - with cost over $30K, the wiper should have intermittent.

The water level thing was true. I live in Ohio and they said the wind was so strong for so long that Toledo lost 6 feet of water and Buffalo gained that entire 6 feet. They called the wind effect a firehouse effect!

Take the two vents on either side of the ride command point them straight up at the windshield/mirror. The two defrost vents on the actual top angle them more to each side. Canada here rain snow/-30c and it works better that way.

Not real impressed with the defrost capability. I'm buying the unit anyway (2025), but, my Kubota RTV x1100c by now would have ALL the windows clear...and I'd be turning it down due to getting too warm inside. I'm thinking when it get into the teens, that thing will be hard to see out of.

@@maraudermitchelli I added it up. No doubt some hidden costs. I would love to have a 1500 XD. They are 25k overpriced. I can get a brand new cummins for 15k or less. The rest will not cost more than 35k. I'm not wrong about over priced. I called it junk . I really would say that. Overpriced as it is its junk because i will never pay 50k for a side by side. In your case prob 35k. Still to rich!

@@kirklucas1332 I was fortunate I didn't pay that much for my Ranger, after I took delivery, the prices went up 6-7 thousand which is incredible. I do agree with your math for a jeep comparing to the Ranger 1500....Kirk I hate to tell you I really like that, Ranger. Frankly you are probably right maybe I should look at the Jeep. What's interesting is Polaris has maxed out on their orders for the new Ranger and Expedition so the market is there which is surprising to my dealer. Great comment it makes sense thank you for explaining.

Once in a generation storm is a joke they happen all the time

Mike I respectfully disagree. The news kept stating once in a generation storm for our area. I've lived through the blizzard of 1977 which shut schools down for 2 weeks snow drifts so high you could touch street lights. In 1977 there were few 4X4 vehicles or front wheel drive cars. Then 20 years ago a storm we had 7 feet in one day on opening day of hunting. This once in a generation storm had blizzard winds for 3 days...plus 6-7 feet of snow. In any previous storm I never remember them lasting that long and the snow in the street. In my 58 years in northern Eire county it was once in a generation. Again our souther tier will get heavy snowfall but it was the blizzard wind for days which made this storm bad. BTW the 77 storm had very little snow fall in comparison it blew the snow of Lake Erie...crazy. Thank you for commenting be safe.

Mark by the next day we had 4 feet of snow and then 5-7 feet of snow. It was a major blizzard they said once in a life time. It was just starting when this video was taken. I've had a generated since I built the house, after 20 years i replaced it with a pad mount 24kw and it is great. I have many videos of the blizzard and the one on the generator. Your weather is funny I’ve had 36 inches of snow and 70 mile an hour winds. I’ve lost my electricity at least six times I laugh at your video. Poor you in a couple inches of snow. You don’t have a clue buddy.

Mark respectfully you are wrong please watch my other videos the next day there was 4 feet of snow a day later 5-7 feet of snow it was a once in a life time blizzard. Over 50 people died we did very well but we had to shovel and stay sheltered. Thank you for commenting
