If you haven't learned this already here's a lesson for you: If a company is involved always assume they'll do the worst and act according to that assumption. That way you will only invest money into a company or event that you are willing to 100% lose to the benefit of the company/event with 0 gains for you.

I hate Blizzard, I wish an independent game company would rise up and push the old guard out. Everything is micro-transactions, loot boxes, paywalls, pay-to-win content, and other predatory monetization practices. These aren't even games anymore they're casinos and virtual shopping experiences.

Obviously people thought that prize pool was set at $500,000 (paid by Blizzard) and 25% of the earnings off the product they were selling will add to that prize total. Read the post by Blizzard and tell me if my first statement is exactly what you interpreted. If not, its misleading
