Can't wait for World of Warcraft: Threat Level Midnight. All hilarious and original jokes aside, these announcements seem tailor made for a player like me. I just hope and pray Delve's are more Horrific Vision and less Storm/Rift/Surge in terms of depth and replayability (and fun, frankly). Also the new Xal model, good god give that designer a raise.

Not saying if we knew BFA was going straight into SL before hand it wouldn't have been a disaster, but it could have helped make things clearer. I think it's a good idea for them to make it clear that the stories are evolving, and they're gonna be told over a couple expansions. This actually has me excited for the future. It feels like Warcraft, and it feels like we're getting the production levels of BFA and SL in The War Within. I think people have forgotten that we were getting HQ cinematics every couple months for those stories, especially BFA.

I don’t think Azeroth is a Titan - I think that title is a misdirect. It implies before this expansion all the other Titans die or are defeated. ‘The Last Titan’ most likely refers to Sargeras as being the last remaining Titan because he was safe from destruction in his containment cell warded by Illidan. With the death of the other Titans in ‘midnight’ most likely results in Sargares’s containment no longer having the power to contain him and he breaks free. So I think you’re 100% spot on that ‘The Last Titan’ will be an Illidan centric expansion that focusses on Sargeras’s escape to go on to be a ‘big bad’ again, or ultimate defeat.

@@Chibichunga I doubt that. The titans were pretty much dead for a good 70-80% of the entire game. Having them die off after being revived and before we really get to know what they're up to would be anti-climactic. I think Azeroth is the going to be the last titan because all the other world souls in the universe are dead because of Sargeras or corrupted by the void, leaving Azeroth as the last but most powerful titan born in all of creation. Also, isnt it strange that we've never encountered the inhabitants of the planets that the other titans were born from (Argus was kind of the only one, which makes it weirder)? either we'll meet them eventually or we find out the titans killed them in some gruesome fashion.

Delves sound like the perfect thing for me. I play mostly solo and only use the DF for Heroic Dungeons and LFR. With this I hopefully have some cool content loop I can play and get some meaningful gear upgrades. I don't expect Heroic/Mythic Raid quality gear, but maybe around Normal raid level with the potential to increase the difficulty to get better gear would be so cool.

I absolutely love the verticality of the zones, going from the Isle of Dorn down to the mining areas of the Ringing Deeps, further down to Hallowfall and ending up in Ahz-Kahet, the lowest area and furthest away from the safety of the main city. The fact that you can use dynamic flying from the city to waaay down there must be amazing. Can't wait.

Great to see Metzen back with his energy announcing this stuff. I'm happy for the folks still engaged with WoW and those that will come back in for things like delve and warbands and the rest sounds really good as well. I dipped in Cata, returned in Legion and dipped again with SL and at that point I was done for good. So while I won't be coming back I'm stoked for those that will and stayed.

The way I understand the third expansion in the saga is that we return to Northrend to discover Titan things in Ulduar once again, because the titans are returning. Not that we are returning to Northrend as the main location of that expansion. Which could mean the Avaloren or something similar will be it.

Just a note, I'm sure it's been said now, but the crystal sticking out into Hallowfall probably isn't the tip of the sword. Supposedly the Arathi have been down there for centuries, and that crystal has been there the whole time. It also wouldn't explain why the sword is shifting from light to shadow if it was a defense mechanism, IMO. My guess is it's something Tyr or a Naaru put down there.

New approach is rebranding patches as expansions. Now they're gonna charge you for patches. They say they're gonna pump content faster than ever, that's because they won't be making new zones and races and all that work that goes into an expansion.

I want them to revamp the two main continents again into something not so stuck in the past(The Cataclysm was over a decade ago Guys...) and every zone should scale, so you can go and quest there at any level, at any time, even during a new expansion. This will also have the added bonus of letting Blizzard set story peices and questlines anywhere on Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms much easier, and on top of that, even if we get another Alien expansion like the Shadowlands, we can always go back to do something on Kalimdor/The Eastern Kingdoms to bring us back to Azeroth instead of us being stuck with that "Where the hell are we, who the hell are these people and what the hell is going on?" feel of Shadowlands.

Last Titan may be the last expansion and ultimate end of WoW - by then every main character would have resolved their character arcs, we are already seeing larger arcs for factions being resolved and put to bed - the freekin Forsaken helped the Worgen retake their home, the night Elves have recovered from the loss of Tel'drassil, etc.

You know what I find hysterical they still lean into the illusion of "choice", we all know this song and dance one path will ALWAYS be meta and everything else will be seen as garbage over the course of the expansion "Balancing" occurs at an incredibly insufficient rate and at the end of the expansion those "talents" will be forgotten and rendered obsolete for the next shiny object. It honestly baffles me that people still get hyped for this crap, I may not play wow anymore and never will again but I still like to keep tabs on my favorite trainwreck for other reason than seeing how deep a hole they want to dig themselves...only time will tell with this one, there is promise I wont deny that but blizzard has burned its player-base far too much in the past for me to ever give them the benefit of the doubt going forward no matter who they bring back or who buys their company.

Man it was so great seeing Chris on stage. Loved every bit of it. The only part I'm not too happy about is the bit about titans. Now I do have biased opinion here as I'm a big on titans and what they have done. I like order and harmony above all. So, that tidbit about titans has me worried. They were the only ones not yet fully tainted by the new wannabe writers and seems like the plot line about titans not good is in full swing. Thought Chris would put full stop on it but sadly that is not going the way I expected it to. Hopefully I'm just thinking too much. Only time will tell I suppose.

I mean I'd say it was already hinted at back in Legion that there might be more to them than just them actually being the 'good guys' if you look at their keepers they made. Imho it makes them more interesting and nuanced if they have their own more selfish motives rather than doing what is natural or for the best since it would mean they are flawed and imperfect just like people are. That said the story has been kind of executed poorly since Metzen left.

@Arthion Well, my dear fellow lore enthusiast pre-legion we found out not long after Titans left Azeroth, Sargares rendered them KIA of type, and they weren't around until legion where we free them. It wasn't until SL that they started the Titan not so good mantra. If you are going to talk about Wrath planet wipe systems, one has to remember that it was a fail-safe plan and ppl conveniently forget once the wipe happened, life would restart on the planet again off of emerald dream CC. It was never meant to be a complete wasteland forever and would only trigger should the corruption be out of control. This is normal. Even we humans use this concept on a much smaller scale in the real world "ie: in the labs" when experimenting. I was never under the impression they didn't have a plan of their own. We always knew what their job was on a cosmic level. We are but ants to them really, so there was no illusion of some caring gods. I thought of them as space scientists terra-forming systems, mainly ones that had their kind trapped. They were shown as benevolent compared to the old gods and their masters. I mean, if I have to choose between the black empire, which we had a glimps of in bfa to Titans order, I'll pick Titans any time. Chance of me to survive and flourish is outstandingly much higher than, say, black empire. My main issue is the changes to already established lore as whole though. I can't understand why they can't just go to the great dark beyond and actually explore it. Surely, they can create new threats from there as it is literally the entire universe just hanging for us to explore.

But seeing some form of conflict of interest as to the denizens of Azeroth's wellbeing as opposed to what the Titans want to do to 'rectify' their original plan for Azeroth could be interesting for example. i think as far as revamps go, The War Within is gonna spruce up the Kalimdor assets, Midnight will improve some TBC and The Last Titan will update Northrend, it really sounds like they are improving the very foundation of the game.

Im pretty sure that the crystal in Hallowfall is not the sword. Metzen not only called it a crystal that acts like a sun, but its safe to assume its been there since the earthen arrived there (which is waaaaay before sargeras plunged the sword into silithus). In addition, the location of the sword vs the location of the island is too far apart. And most of the sword is all ready above ground, so no way it would stretch that far, in the angle its inserted.

I think this was a really great announcement for WoW's future. Having a story plan that overarches and isn't some new enemy who we don't know or is some tertiary character is really needed, was disappointed with last few expansion stories. Hearing about these features in 2023 is wild to me when I consider that I left wow during Cata, went to GW2, where much of the progress is account shared and the game is super hyper alt friendly , fractals and strikes are bite sized content that is amazing if you can’t do or don’t like raiding and everything is horizontal progression. I was more sad because the presentation just seemed to double down on retail and Classic + was a no show.

As an aging gamer with a family, full time job, and limited time to play these days; I'm super excited about delves content. I've played since vanilla. Back then i could play for days on end. Now i get about 5-10 hours a week(sometimes less). I'm sure many raiders won't agree, or think there's no place for such content in WoW... to those people, it's not hurting your game experience... you can keep doing what you've always done. This just allows others to play a different way, and keep the game that's been a large part of our adult lives very much alive

you could say the announcement for every expansion have made people excited don't fall for their marketing team's psychological triggers to get you to give them money. blizzard invests very heavily into marketing, so that they can cut costs in the actual game. they are willing to go to any lengths to get you to buy a game that you don't even know how it's going to play out, incluiding lying. see what happened to warcraft reforged, they lied about most of the things they promised to get you to give them money

I wish I could share your enthusiasm. For some of us the final nail has been driven into the classic coffin. Wotlk was peak content for many players. Cata marks the end yet a 2nd time for many of us. Hands down the best and most iconic bosses are Illidan and Arthas. They rolled these out so fast we never had the time to reslly build our guild up. We were slower players. It just passed us by again. With no opportunity to experience it again. And thats what this was supposed to be. But instead of Classic being a nostaglic experience that you could have at any time. They left a vanilla port for some casual and HC players and then trucked right through Burning Legion and Wrath. We should be able to come back and experience these whenever we want. Tbc and wrath should have had dedicated servers. Then you can take the cata train and chug along alllllll the way to retail and leave us classic players in classic. If you want cata I highly suggest just switching back to retail. Leave us alone, please.

I loved the way Blizz is showing Anduin with a pseudo-jedi survivor sorta vibe! That was really solid. I hope they do a solid redemption arc for him where he meets his wife (and don't simply turn around and kill her!)

The CGI for Anduwin is generally the best ive seen to date. Imagine if this was somehow made into a insanely designed WoW expansion or revamp looking like that or them releasing another game that looked all like that, and in game as well, (if even possible with the tech today) , if anything id hope they continue with this design for their little WoW TV show, which im guessing is the whole reason they changed his look and design and graphics for their cinematics to match their upcoming show. (atleast i think they planned on having a WoW show i forget if i remember hearing something on that a long time ago)

So WoW/Blizzard realized that other MMORPGs like FFXIV 'ended' their Main Story and moved on to a new one, with the new stories being positively looked at. Now they're finally looking to end their overwhelming convoluted and consistently rewritten/retconned story and move on to different aspects of the world and possibly stories. Idk man. Having a basic idea of where the game world is going for following expansions is not new. Ffxiv 2.0 onwards has been doing this. Stating this to players is way ahead is new; but with declining faith in blizzard, they had to say something. Also, delves sound familiar to variant as well, which is rather fun. Warbands giving account bound bank and reputation was needed back in at least pandaria; it's an excellent step forward towards making wow more alt classes/jobs more friendly. I don't plan on coming back to wow and staying with ffxiv for personal reasons; one being I love the slower global cooldown. It's nice to see good competition between both subscription mmo's again.

Please Blizzard, take your time.. Truely pour your art and creativity into it. That Anduin reveal vid was absolutely amazing in its CGI and presentation. Lots of elements as well as carrying the story for the big reveal at the end. That's the effort I would love to see Retail see.

Did anybody else notice that when Anduin picks up his sword and points it at Thrall, that shot is a recreation of Arthas lifting Frostmourne in the Wrath cinematic right before he plunges it into the ice? Maybe hints that the domination magic is still affecting him? Whether it means something or was just an homage, I loved that.

Yeah, I think a lot of us noticed it. I think it's trying to indicate how damaged Anduin still is after being controlled by the Jailer. He doesn't trust himself or his body anymore; but Thrall still does.

I feel like Season of Discovery is going to be my jam with Warcraft next year. I am interested in seeing if any of the new Hero Talents will give us the flavor of like Gladiator Stance warrior, maybe bring back more fun ideas that has been spat on and tossed away by blizzard. But Discovery seems like it'll be what I personally have been waiting for with Classic.

I was disappointed by the cinematic. It wasn't bad. But if you do what I do and look back and rewatch all of the major cinematics back to back like a tribute of Wow over the years, this one isn't very fitting. Also, I am on the fence for the hero talents. It just feels like borrowed power reskinned. Like they just took the legion weapon talent tree and slapped in in the middle. I know you can swap some choices around, but I was really hoping for the talent tree to like, grow somehow. The talent rework was a real win in my opinion, and I was looking forward to seeing how they will grow it over time. Finally, Season of Discovery is doing what I always wished they would do. Bring down the power level, turning the leveling experience into seasons, remixing the world to help slow things down without actually slowing things down. Most importantly, turning Ashenvale into a world pvp event. I can't believe it is really happening. Ever since Cata, I wanted the old open world to matter again. And turning Ashenvale into a casual spontaneous world pvp event is exactly what I always wanted. Literally the top of my wish list. I hope it turns out well. My biggest complaint though, what almost would make this perfect, is if they would have used all those new models. So close to perfection for me.

See, as soon as I saw the Hallowfall zone I assumed that giant pointy thing sticking out of the ceiling was the tip of Sargeras' sword, but then in the what's next panel they just kept calling it a crystal. So maybe it's not the sword? There's a few things against is being the sword: one is that it's shiny and golden which Sargeras' sword is not, and another is that it's coming straight down from the ceiling rather than at an angle, and Sargeras's sword is definitely plunged into Azeroth at an angle. I'm not really sure what all a "Warband" entails. Obviously it's cool to have account wide stuff, but the image they used for Warbands make it seem like you can play alongside your own alts, which would be pretty darn cool. Being able to bring in your alts as NPC party members seems like it could be a cool feature. If all it is is just account wide stuff, I don't know why they'd even give that a name rather than just saying "account wide everything." As far as delves go, they sound cool, but I really hope they don't end up being an unfun, half-baked, grindy system like Island Expeditions were. And they said there's 13 of them, which honestly doesn't sound like near enough. Also I feel like Anduin just doesn't look like Anduin. Part of it is the short hair and the beard, but it's also just the face in general, especially in that key art but also in the cinematic.

I really hope that we get new things in Northrend & Quel'thalas but we also see a natural progression as if people had been there since they were relevant zones to us the players just because we left those areas years ago doesn't mean the people of Azeroth have. Also does anyone else think new Anduin looks a whole lot like Bajeera?
