Even Xaryu said something like that too to his healer in his zero-to-hero when his healer was playing too aggressive and standing in the middle eating cc. The phrasing in this video seems like a trap to get you. The nooby part is thinking that it's literally ALL you need to do to be a good healer. However, if the dps players are good enough and it's lower mmr, it may be all you need to do in order to get by in those games.

I've always seen the things like this : There are two types of healers. The ones who only see hp bars, and the ones who actually play the game with you. A shame that the community has shrinked so bad we can't find modest people enjoying the game and becoming stronger just for the fun of it

The game has also been dog doo for 4 years with insane grinds and borrowed power. You need to learn with someone as good or worste than you. Can't count on one hand the amount of 1600 rogues that have got their pr with me.. stop complaining and figure it out 🤷‍♂️ Blizzard is definitely not going to figure it out for you..

Not only are we at the tail end of the expansion where only the hardcore, arrogant, poo-brained elitists are still playing, but you pair the end of the expansion, no content, and the lawsuit together and you have this sort of perfect storm that resulted in a sizable number of casual players to leave the game as well. Because Dragonflight is around the corner, we're seeing really old players return, and a considerable number of new players try their hand at the game at said tail end of the expansion which means the only people around to interact with these new players are the jaded, snobbish, elitist asswipes; and it only perpetuates the "wow is toxic" mentality because people like you don't understand that people in your groups aren't magically automatically at your level of play just because you've been playing the game for 5+ years. The lack of self-awareness is mind-bloggling.

@@Nimoodles I couldn't have said it better myself. Blizzard has become arrogant from the success they achieved only to lose the only valuable thing, work. Because they felt on top they stopped listening to the community and stopped being blizzard in my eyes. (Listening to the community to understand the challenges better, with an additionnal point of view, probably the most relevant. Not to confuse with bending to every request.) They went to finance advices and sold the spirit and the soul of World of Warcraft for money, I mean who could blame them ? They only do what everyone is doing in this world. Setting the same example even in the most beautiful things I have ever experienced in my life. Always saddens me to think about this story, sorry. So that's how it naturally became, the place you described as two communities, the new players & the veterans, who come to collision. And that's precisely why responsabilities are important. Because they let the ones who actually want to make the world thrive take significant actions. Blizzard should have adressed what was coming for them and never doubted they could fail. By letting "natural selection" happen, you leave to rot what you created and that's morally wrong in my eyes. That's why I will always tell this story this way, because I, fellow player, felt betrayed to not have responsible people to think about the average guy.

@@Fragor100 There are a few reports out there recording Activision imbedding marketing and financial advisors in to Blizzard's development teams and pipelines to try and coherse, or direct Blizzard in to creating mechanics and systems that draw out the player's time and money as long as possible, so I won't be the first person to hop on the blizzard-hating bandwagon claiming they've lost their spirit and character. I know a large chunk of the game's direction is directly caused by Activision's meddling. That said, a lot of the original developers have moved on from WoW, and those who remained were just as jaded as the long-term players are. Many of them were removed throughout the lawsuit process which has left Blizzard today, a very different Blizzard than what it was even 4 years ago, which was a very different Blizzard from what it was during MoP, and Classic. People seem to believe Blizzard has always been the same entity just gradually going down the path of evil; that's not really true though. The only thing that's been constant is Activision's corruptible, greedy nature. Blizzards gone through many iterations, many different dev teams, many different directions. Dragonflight looks as good as it does because junior developers for the first time, actually have a say in the direction of the game's development - not because Blizzard is trying to save face. Only people who don't know what is going on at the studio think Dragonflight is some sort of weird damage control product.

In shadowlands it's a bit difficult to say if your teammate is safe, the amout of consistent and burst damage some classes have is just ridicilous. In MoP and WoD, WotLK I could tell, if everything ok. In Shadowlands, after 3 seasons of playing - I'm still in shock what some classes can do, even outside their offensive CDs. I mean, look at DK, he's in a bad spot in terms of current meta, but in terms of balancing, he's kind of good. I mean, when he pops his CDs, he's dangerous, when it's over - his killing power is much, much lower. And look at fury warrior, bm hunter, monks, affli locks, non stop pressure and insane burst, like, wtf.

@@ronaldwestbeal2269 nah in late Mop it was much easier to tell, the only way to one shot was popping every cd, if you saw trinket or some sort of burst cd up you were alert, in Shadowlands you don't know, I remember rogues 1 shoting with that fae dot covenant spell which was weird af, paladins can still one shot you without wings, its ridiculous

This video actually got me thinking that our troubles getting rating may be due to me focusing too much on my own performance. I never learned healing stuff myself and all these years I've been assuming our priest is doing what she's supposed to. I guess I have been so preoccupied with my own character, I never really looked at how she plays. Today we watched some arena matches from her perspective and I realized she's pretty much just standing in the open and spamming flash heal without really knowing what many of her buttons do. Also knowing some of the icons of other classes' abilities or using los to avoid cc would probably be useful to learn. I'll try next to get her to agree to go through some Level 0 stuff together and see if it helps us out of the 1400 range. I guess she doesn't have much time to put into the game these days, but considering she's my wife, we'll always be a team =)

Interestingly enough, there seems to be a big difference in hps depending on the order you use the heals in. If you alternate Serenity and Flash Heal and throw in an occasional Apotheosis, it's a lot more in the same time window than just chain casting FH. She's not really excited about analyzing numbers and stuff, but I think I'll read up on this and we'll talk about it. To be honest, I didn't think myself it's such a big deal if you don't do your rotation _just_ in the right order. With some classes it seems it actually does matter. I suppose this may be behind our perpetual 1.4k rating =) I guess WoW just isn't one of those games you can pick up and do well playing intuitively, but you actually have to read up on stuff to the level of numbers and all.

Comms is vital at any rating if you are learning. Have a stable partner. Unsure on comp, strats, meta. If you know meta. Know your comp win conditions and generally a gamer. You dont need comms until 2.5+

Coms are a lot more important at lower rating usually at higher rating people know what they need to do when they see you cc at lower rating coms can be immensely helpful if yall aren’t sure of what each other is currently doing I play around duelist usually and even when I’m in coms I only really talk to let em know when I’m drinking or if I need them to stop cc or to swap targets etc we all usually know what set ups our comps have and what our roles will be like if my rogue saps the healer and opens dps even without coms my job is to get in there as a priest and fear the healer before sap wears off to see if we can force a trinket while we kill dps coms are still just super useful in general tho!

You guys need to do more stuff for 1.4-1.6 as it's not always as scripted as some of the vids. I've died outside of enemy CD's I don't trade as based off the "script" perhaps it's a gear thing? what do you do when you need to use CD because normal dmg outside of CD's is so high?

What helped me with this problem was learning which CD’s to trade and when to simply run and LOS. For example if a rogue is on your ass popping CDs, you want to trade as the damage is coming in, not AFTER you get bursted and go oh shit. Cause you’ll be behind, using CD too late, and running out of skills and mana to keep up, hence dying outside of the script/when you “should”. Other times, when a mage is combust or a lock is popping their shit, just LOS them and you may not even need to use and CD

@@ronaldwestbeal2269 Ok Ok but I mean, What you said is how to use your abilities, and build your rotation, which is something you have to train and improve over time with field test, training dummy and eventually some guides for expert advices. It's made harder by the fact that most passive effects are automatically gained through leveling, so imagine someone who boosted his char, he don' t even know how a certain ability evolved until 60, because some passive effects you gain are not even written on the final tooltip of the ability But DF trees allows you to chose up to the passive boost for certain abilities over others, there will be less cookie cutter builds (at least that's the whole point of it) and so people will be allowed (and forced somehow) to choose and understand how every of their ability work and synergize with each other. But idk I didn' t play DF trees yet so we will see.

That's not your type of content and thats it. WoW haven't really changed in terms of content since 2004. People changed. You have raids and you have pvp. You want to be a part of a succesfull group? Be better, learn, adapt etc. You want to play for fun? Find yourself a group of people with the same goal and play, just isolate yourself from whatever you find toxic. If you're a noob - find another and learn together, thus you'll have zero (probably) argues about each other. To be honest, the only thing that I can call really useless and toxic - flaming each other. It's better to just kick bad player, if you don't want to invest time in teaching him (most of them can't learn anyway by the way) and find another, why waste your time and emotions?

Right. Today my loading screen took a bit longer as my teammates. They was across a bridge in a dungeon and there was a mob in the way. I asked how I could get there and that I didn't want to aggro the mob. No words spoken from either of the 4 other players. They just kicked me because I was slowing their progress. It would've took them 10 seconds to explain. This really has never happend in any other mmo's. WoW has a special player base.

Healing is pain.. you got look at 8 things at once, not one of them being your own action bars, while monitoring cool down and diminishing returns, and dealing with people who don't speak English, are more skilled at LOS their healer than avoiding damage, and then getting cried to about your healing skill... Simply put, healing would be so much better if there were no other blue-haired players crying.

One of the top ones for me is healers that don’t help dps ever. When my healer teammate dispels nothing and says “wtf bro you didn’t kill them!”. Yeah and the enemy healer (same class) did 200k damage and you did 0, plus they out healed you despite having less gear and had 10 dispels and you had 2…. I out dps’d out CC’d use CDs at better times than their dps but yes it’s my fault we lost. Some people are super delusional and never think they’re at fault. If you think losses are always your partners fault no matter how many people you play with you are most likely the problem.
