Tbh the 'white allies' of BLM were the absolute worst. When they thought i was white they tried to bully me and bash me down unless i basically repeated everything they said. When I lived in Harlem and the Bronx, I got a ton of hate for being white. Just for being white, literally. Also, the MTA (the transit authority in NYC) literally does not hire white people. That's it, just the way he looks, the skin color, the lack of hair, the clothes is a big enough reason to FORCE someone to leave a public place while insulting by calling a nazi. No way to tell if any pressure was put on his neck. He was talking for 8 minutes. Try putting your knee on one of your freinds neck like that. In less then a minute with a little pressure they go unconscious n cant talk. Stupid move but his dept taught him to do that to hover knee over a guys neck so they dont flop around n hurt themselves. If the coroner says no damage or pressure was applied n it was a approved move. I dont agree that type of move should be used. There is a highly likely chance the cop will get off. Reguardless that george asked to lay on around. They should have left him in the back of cop car even though he was freaking out n drove him straight to the hospital to get evaluated.. Those cops didnt handle that situation correct. Most cops need more training. You couldnt pay me enough to be a cop.

Haha! Exactly. Quite surprising. The South Bronx is way more open and cool to hang in. Vermont is a beautiful place but there is this odd "open-minded" mentality where if you agree with the established Vermont narrative you're "open-minded" but if you try to come at any issue from another angle it's a no go socially. This isn't everyone obviously but this way of thinking is way more common in Burlington than in the South Bronx.

Dear Peter, When you are in Ukraine in contrast to when you are in USA, it is so friendly over in Ukraine (even though language is different), and I am sad to see people in the park not even willing to hear you. Very low in tolerance. I believe they were uncomfortable because of the camera. Your meeting with David was cool. He is so accommodating and has a very balanced view. I'm late in watching this video. I've seen more recent videos of you in the toughest, most dangerous areas in cities....and they were much more open and very nice and respectful. This was surprising. Vermont always struck me as pretty peaceful and beautiful. The hostility directed toward you and calling you names, also not speaking to you other than the gentleman from the store...sure didn't expect that. After 28 years in Portland OR this piece really speaks to me. We lived 20 minutes from downtown in Lake Oswego, probably the whitest town and by stats the wealthiest town in Oregon. It is now covered with signs and division. Portland has been destroyed by it. We moved out of state in September. Thank-you for this insightful and real piece. The children at the end were a breath of fresh air - HOPE!
