Had the privilege of working Carson City helitack in 89' & 90'. Still the best job I ever had, everything after that is mundane.

@@EGray1401 Enjoy every minute Hector, you'll have great memories and experiences no one you know will ever have. Minden was a neat place to visit when they stationed the first C130 aerial tanker there in 90'. Be safe.

Such an important mission to protect our public lands. Thanks Helitack Fire Crews!

Agreed! It’s a badass job

Making a whole video about Helitack and not having a single pilot speak is kind of wild, shows that they aren't really appreciated for the experts they are.

Are all of your crews interagency?
@BLMNIFC Жыл бұрын
BLM Fire resources work with interagency partners to manage wildland fires. While our crew members are BLM employees, they work cooperatively with other federal, state, Tribal, and local resources to meet fire management goals.

@@BLMNIFC OK; I understand; I truly appreciate your patience & time answering my technical question. From a comparably small Missouri Fire Department, as an Explorer for 6 years, I love reading about other agencies, coming across your & other Federal Fire crews. Reading how, if I understand correctly, Hot Shot crews are made up of Interagency members, I read how some Helitak crews were. Again, appreciating the response.

@@ex-missourifireexplorerrob8274you’re thinking too much into it. Almost all fed crews work as interagency. My first season on an engine crew I worked with USFS and state crews. And the shot crew I’m on almost always works interagency

@@pronounshismajesty3542 I'm from a Midwestern state, with zero wildland firefighting; understanding now what is meant by interagency, some context used interagency to mean multi-agency crews, ie, as on the USFWS Fire Facebook page, they have hand crews of their own agency members working in USFS hand crews, as other used it in the context of available for mutual aid, (the USFS supporting the BLM on their land, etc.). I read about some helitak crews made up of USFS, USFWS, & BLM members, hitting wall after wall, again from the fact my town's department is solely structural fires, or the occasional grass fire.
