Interesting comment about the voice. Having watched her films since the first, Tiger Bay in 1959, I hadn't remembered her voice as sounding so off-hand, almost arrogant. Haven't seen her in anything for years, including Wild at Heart, which appears to have had limited release outside the UK and Africa. Shame it kept her from appearing in more interesting roles.

SHE'S NOT UNDERRATED in her country. She's been working since 1947....a baby. She was born 1946. Its our country that underrates her however...she doesn't wish to live here and work here as she likes her home in England.

I'm well aware that her country rates her highly, as does mine, Australia. The fact that you wrote that she was "born 1946", instead of "in 1946", indicates that you are neither British nor Australian. Why would she want to live in America, by the way? And why mention it? Great place to visit, and I've enjoyed my trips, but, like Hayley, I would never want to live there.

Ban Crows America is a big country, some places are nice to live in! I wouldn't want to live in Australia, the U.K. is much better. I believe she has a home in the U.K. and in the US. Her sister Juliet has lived in America most of her life.

Oh, my goodness - I've actually signed in to comment upon Hailey! I still adore her. I'm 58. Someone on youtube has been gracious enough to send me a copy of "Pretty Polly," which is practically impossible to get here, in the U.S. She's always been wonderful. I hope all the best for her.

Well, happy birthday to Hayley! She is still so beautiful. I am about her same age and i still remember being heartsick with a crush on Hayley when i was about sixteen. I’ve be a fan of Hayley’s from the very beginning of her career. Since I have hearing damage, I tend to read lip movements. If you’ve never seen this happen, when you watch an old movie of hers, look for her to do two things. She likes to lick her upper lip and will pull in her lower lip in over her teeth, like she’s going to bite it. If you watch this video, she pulls her lower lip into her mouth one time. I think it’s a stress release moment or something but it’s the cutest thing and she’s never outgrown doing it. Just thought you’d like to know.

Her hands are not "huge". She is actually quite petite at 5'4. Older women lose estrogen. Moreover, everyone is born with both testosterone and estrogen because we're all here as the result of a sperm fertilizing an egg. Or did you miss that day in health class?
