Rule FIX: Cop in clashes do move in 2nd edition. This game was number 10 in my top 100 and has been a favourite at our table since we got it. Really glad it got a second edition so more people can pick it up. Not charging for videos also allows me to cover the games I want to spotlight, and this is one. Out of Order games are not a big operation, and they provide a free Print and play of the game. Because it's all about the game concepts, and not about making a bundle of cash for them. I respect the hell out of them for that. To buy this game go here www.boardgameprices.com/prices/blocbloc/?[blocbloc] To get the free print and play go here. outofordergames.com/blocbybloc/

Having played my copy twice now, I'm thinking it DEFINITELY needs sleeving! Great artwork awesome game, but the cards are kinda flimsy. I do get the "like Pandemic" vibe, just with a "dice hate me" mechanic in addition to the "decks hate me"

I think in this edition cops in a clash *DO* move, it is only cops in the same district as an occupation (rather than just a bloc) that don't ? Prevents you from using the cheesy tactic of sacrificing single blocs to 'pin down' an entire group of cops for an entire game turn (ie until they attack - possibly even longer with certain cards).
@3MBG6 жыл бұрын
You are correct, this is why new editions are a bit of a pain to cover. Its easy to habitually look past a rule. (Added note to pinned comment above)
@anonarchist19366 жыл бұрын
@@3MBG some how read it and my brain just didn't register the first sentence! Did find the first couple of plays it was very easy to accidentally use some first edition rules (or forget handy second edition ones, like the workers getting +1 when building occupations)

Also with the movement the way I read the rule is the only ways to change direction are by hitting a highway or travelling between metro stations. Is this how you played it?
@3MBG6 жыл бұрын
Nope. You can't move diagonally, or across areas where the roads don't reach, and get stopped by cops. But asides from that, you are free to take any path. Including backing out and around, popping in via metros, and generally scooting around the outskirts if you can. I'd recheck page 8. Its quite specific about being able to move between any two regions, using any combination of moves with the above exceptions.

@@3MBG Well... that'd make things MUCH easier. We still won on Medium difficulty - and that's with forgetting to roll extra dice for 6+ / 9+ placed blocs

Hi, have the game a solo mode? Because on bgg is not written, an the same on the rulebook. I would be very interested in a solo mode, do you have any idea?
@3MBG3 жыл бұрын
Yep, although it is just multi-hand co-op rules. You really do need all 4 factions in play.

Nice, thanks for making these videos, they really are an amazing resource. I would like to make a request for a future video... My friend got Ticket to Ride for Christmas and while I realize that the rules are very simple, I was REALLY surprised you had not done a video on it yet seeing as how popular it is. I had to read the rulebook, no fun :( Lol, but seriously, it would be a good one to have on your channel :D
@3MBG6 жыл бұрын
Ha, i personally don't enjoy ticket to ride and don't own it. That said, the gateway classics will all eventually make it on here, as i'd be a fool not to eventually cover TTR, Catan and Carcassonne (Did pandemic recently). Just because those are games people play.
@xJAMESVICIOUSx6 жыл бұрын
@@3MBG I kind of figured that might be the case :D TTR is definitely not on my top list of games (and I wouldn't buy it, but since my friend got it as a gift.. now we are playing it lol), but it might be one that would generate a lot of views for you just due to the wide appeal of those, as you said gateway classics.

This game looks fantastic, mechanically. Hope this system gets a dystopian future style reskin where you're fighting an evil corporation and it's private army or some kind of fantasy setting where you 'farm' instead of 'loot' because fighting cops and raiding small businesses just isn't my cup of tea.
@3MBG5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, i wouldn't play it with my dad for example (former cop). Still, I don't expect to see it rethemed any time soon as the designers motives are more about the message than the game.
