This is the best Bloc live performance ever. Imagine they released it on vinyl? 🔥

best moments of my life in the 10's bought two albums after hearing one song and saved listening to them til I jumped on a plane to Europe from Canada. Rented a BMW Z4 roadster coupe for the autobahn and after meeting an American Rollerderby babe in Berlin sharing the best experiences possible, The Kreuzberg song played for the first time on the rainy morning driving the unknown Berliner streets with tchibo coffees pastries and a pack of lucky strike to acquiesce the hang over and prepare for more east end underground bar hunting and raving. Thank-you. Bloc Party I love you. Your fan for eternity

This has a raw punky freshness that maybe got polished off a little bit for Silent Alarm. So good, imagine seeing them live at this stage.

punky? not at all punky lol

I was in love with this band in 2005-06. Loved coming across all the B sides and songs that weren't on Silent Alarm. So good

@@kal1665 Meh, it's certainly post-punk at the least. Totally punky elements! lol

it always bothered me that Bloc stopped doing the thing where kele and Gordon sing different lines or do call and response stuff. maybe it's just my imagination but that feels like something they only did at the very beginning

100% agree, sounds so good

Probably because Kele is hard to work with and wanted his own direction.

Gordon's voice is a great counter to Kele and its a shame he pretty much got relegated to being a backing vocalist later on when he could lead choruses on his own.

Something like this happened to Hot Water Music too. In first two albums they used to do counter vocals, but in subsequent albums they stopped this vocal style.

I'm glad the useless host comments were removed...Bernard Lenoir did it on EVERY Black Session and it was more than annoying. Did it prevent bootlegging ? No.

Dommage, le chanteur est bon mais il lui manque de la puissance vocale pour atteindre le niveau d'intensité des musiciens. Ce ne sont pas les meilleures versions à mon avis

You can tell they're a young band because they have no idea how to make a setlist lol.
