Christ this completely passed me by at the time. Only hearing for the first time now. I remember being slightly underwhelmed when I first heard Weekend in the City (although it’s aged wonderfully), these b-sides are astounding. There should have been a home for some of them on WITC

This is also the reason why they changed the lyrics to Blue Moon and Cells Shaped Like Stars, although honestly I think that abortion and the rarity of true love are both topics that fit pretty well into the theme of AWITC, but whatever. We got I Still Remember instead.

They felt that it didn't fit the tone of the album. AWITC was all about urban malaise. This song is a little too upbeat to fit into that theme.
