This block is a new block. The origin of the old block is a rental block which is usually called L room flat. My family and I moved to this flat in 1974 until 1986. Behind this block there is a football field and a school known as Buona Vista Secondary School. All the L room flats such as block 3, 5, 7 and 30 have been demolished and developed with new flats. The only remaining L room flat is block 1.

That's really interesting. Do you recall how the old elevators look like? (Eg. 1-door or 2-door (telescoping?) Shape of buttons? colour of interior? Brand of lift?

@@tswub Block 30 only has 12 floors, 20 units on each floor starting from the second floor, 3 elevators, elevators A, B and C. In block 30 only a few floors have elevators which are the first floor, fifth floor, eighth floor and eleventh floor. The elevator room used to be larger than the current elevator, had one door and wood grain patterned walls. The brand of the elevator used to be HITACHI if I'm not mistaken. Life was not like it is now. We know each other so well that when we get on the elevator we know which floor they want to go on without asking. Organize activities such as playing soccer or sepak takraw every evening after work, children play marbles, kites or tops when the season arrives. There is also a season to look for spiders. When the festive season arrives, be it Chinese New Year or Deepavali or Hari Raya, those who celebrate will send food or pastries to their neighbors. It's lively. Only when the night is quite quiet because of the location of block 30 with the background of the dark school field and the lack of people passing by. But it feels like all the joys and sorrows of life like that no longer exist. After work, everyone goes home like a bird returning to its nest, there is no friendship between neighbors. Everything is just a memory and becomes a nostalgia that will definitely be missed.
