I think a correction is needed. When the branch point goes to the right of a block, it is not multiplied by the function of that block. It is multiplied by the inverse of the function of that block. This is necessary to preserve the previous state. Otherwise, it would be as if it were multiplied by the square of the function of that block, which would be meaningless. Similarly, when the branch point goes to the right of a block, it should be multiplied by the function of that block.
