Ben Vereen, the guy who played Lou himself, cried after the end of the episode. He said so in an interview. Hate the character, but love the actor.

Hey man, I come back to this video quite a bit. I would love to see the interview if you have a chance to link it. It's a powerful scene with a ton of emotion. Also beyond anything else I wish you the best this world has to offer, much love man.

@@connorswearingen3272 thanks. I can try to find it or you can look it up yourself

@@connorswearingen3272 I was never able to find an interview that he “cried” after the shoot. I did find the one interview he spoke about that episode. He did say it was emotional, but never said he cried. I think there is a reason this person is telling you to look it up yourself instead of being nice and just linking it. It sounds like an exaggerated statement. I really don’t care what Ben Vereen thinks about the episode being he sexually assaulted several women while producing “Hair” . Sad, because it was a powerful scene however now I can see the actor and the character has the same.

My only regret in life is that I will never be able to watch this scene for the first time ever again.

Toughest part is raising your 16 year old son trying to be Phil for him but all he's got is Mom. This scene hits to my core cause I know my son is going through it.

I'd be lucky to have a son like you, Will. Anybody would. (hugs Will with Phil)
@john33333Ай бұрын
(1) Will had a great relationship with his real dad. (2) Everything in this scene was scripted. (3) James Avery pushed Will to do the scene multiple times because of how important he felt the scene was and will credits this amazing performance to him. (4) Karyn Parsons can be heard in the background crying after Will and Uncle Phil hug. (5) James Avery told Will "Now that's acting" in his ear when they embrace because he was so impressed by that final take.

I don't get how a father don't want to be around his son, I would go crazy if my son wasn't in my life, my son is the reason I go on every day, I thank God for all the time.

Hey, UNCLE PHIL!! AUNT VIV!!! I have an IDEA!!! How about instead of yall yelling and demonizing Lu , how about yall use your devine influence as a judge and lawyer and hook Lu up with a Steady GOOD INCOME JOB so he can take care of Will instead of shaming!!! The job doesn't have to be a 6-digit job, just a job good enough for Lu so he can take care of Will. It will be one thing if Lu was a drug dealer or a gang banger, but he's not. He's a truck driver, which means he has a legitimate job trying to make ends meet, so it's not like Lu is a bumb! Lu needs a damn Job!!! Uncle Phil and Aunt Viv pissed me off in this episode even as a child they made me mad, I couldn't stand them. I'm assuming Phil who's a judge and Viv who's a lawyer are well connected amongst successful elite black folks in Philly and yet they NEVER TRIED TO PULL STRINGS TO HOOK UP LU WITH A STABLE 60K JOB so he can support his son. This is the BIGGEST PROBLEM with Black folks. Black Educated Lames will make it on top just to utter to other black folks, "You aint gonna feed off of me! I gots mines!" MEANWHILE, Other races of people have some strong networks. SICK!!!! Sad thing is judging by the comments. I'm the only person who thinks like this!!! Btw, I didn't cry at all at this scene because ALL OF THIS COULD OF BEEN SOLVED!!!

That’s not their job. Lou is a grown man he gotta figure it out. And knowing Lou, even if uncle Phil did hook him up with a job, would he be grateful for it? Would he even show up on time and put in the effort? I seriously doubt that. Flakers like Lou don’t change. I know bc I had a flaky dad myself. Once a flaker, always a flaker.
