In Sydney Australia the Drain Adict charges $350 to clean a drain. If he can't do it then he doesn't charge. He uses a larger diameter penetrator to blast the way through and if necessary will use the size that you have for tightly compacted roots. Then uses a backwards facing root cutter to pull wipes and roots out. The 60 meter hose is mounted on a hose reel and has a valve which controls the flow, enabling him to clear much longer blockages. Also he jets upstream to ensure that it wasn't compacted and runs clean.
@TheDrainUnblockers3 жыл бұрын
Good to know. We charge nowhere near that figure and also have a no fix no fee guarantee 😁

However about 50% of the people then were Irish, and I found there was both the Scouse accent and the Irish accent everywhere. Recently I went back.... I heard no Irish accents, but I am told that most people have Irish surnames from this time!! I was educated by Irish priests there, and I can still do a passable Irish accent.

You're the only company I've seen that relies solely on the triggered jetter. Also the only company that doesn't sent a rood cutting nozzle down the pipe to make sure the roots are cleared as much as possible.
@TheDrainUnblockers3 жыл бұрын
We charge a low fixed cost to unblock the drain when we are there, we do root cutting as an additional service. There is no point sending a root cutter down when the roots may be only in the manhole. If it does block again within a month we come back free of charge to clear it again. Companies do this often, over charge, say you need root cut, camera, excavation and and so on. It's just robbery. We just don't operate like that, no point forcing services on people. If we do have to come back, as I said often free of charge, we then utilise further services to solve the underlying issues. We tend to use the small jet as it allows the highest degree of control, we prefer to use technique rather than brute force. We haven't had much of a chance to show case our root cutter, vacuum tanker, drain tracing equipment, repair work in any great depth or camera work yet. The channel has really only been going for 7 weeks, we did upload a video back in 2019 as a test but only started it at the end of December 2020. We are getting there... further things are coming and in the next few weeks our work will be recorded from two angles, a chest cam Hero8 with Hypersmooth enabled and a tripod mounted Hero7 and editing them together to get much better videos. Just waiting on the Hero7 to be repaired. Thanks!

How do the roots get into the pipe's.
@rsquantum3 жыл бұрын
Overtime pipework moves slightly underground so it can cause breaks in the pipe which roots will grow in, couple of other ways it can happen but i would say thats the main one. Best way to resolve would be either removing the root cause (pun intended) so removing the plant/tree where they are coming from or stick a root cutter in the pipe to clear out what's in there and line the pipe with a special liner.

Honestly there are a lot of backseat jetters complaining in the comments for this vid, and I don't think the complaints are really warranted. You're already aware of the camera, disinfecting the area is a must really especially with kids around and if there's roots the customer can pay a bit more to have them removed as it's a bit more involved.
