The ‘18s have intrigued me. I’ve never been a fan of Harley at ALL, but these innovations are fresh. I’m really looking at getting one now

I just upgraded from an iron 883 to a sport glide. I myself also have the only one around that I know of. It's a great bike. I especially like it because it's not like every one else's bike. It's different. I've gotten allot of compliments on it
@djjoynt125 жыл бұрын
I fell in love with the Sport Glide because of the modularity. I went into Harley and said I want a basic Softtail that I could put a windscreen and saddlebags on if I wanted and they showed me this. I just gotta wait till I get my car paid off.
@vananon515 жыл бұрын
I think it's an incredible bike. I love the fact the faring is removable, which changes the appearance just enough at the front to make it look like a different bike. It's brilliant.

As I look towards taking the Basic Riding Course this spring, it's hard to imagine what type of bike fits me. But the more I watch @blockhead videos, the more I look at Harleys. For some reason this bike right here speaks to me.

After not riding for over 25 years, this is my first Harley. My plan is to leave it “stock” because to me with my riding experience, this is a rocket ship. Maybe after a few years I may add a stage 1. Right now I am in love with this bike. The versatility is awesome.

I bought one in 2019 and just celebrated my one year anniversary with her. She's fabulous, and this first year i put 15,000 miles on her. Have camped with the bike on cross-country 5,000 mile trips, shorter weekend trips and also commute daily on it. A day without riding makes me very sad, this bike is pure fun 😼👍

G’day from Down Under. I recently had my ‘14 Fat Bob (ironic when you watch the review...) written off by insurance and bought a Sport Glide to replace it. Talk about chalk and cheese! I love the ‘Glide but can’t ride it for another month because I am away for work. The biggest thing that got me was the smoothness of the motor, and the lack of vibration. The seating position is also another notable difference and I feel that riding it all day would not be to hard, I don’t honestly think I could say the same about the ‘Bob.

I have one (bought June 2018) and love it! My 1st Harley. I just wish it had more parts available to swap out (bars, pipes) right now but give it a month or two... 1st upgrades were the Custom Dynamics LED front turn signal inserts and a sissy bar for passengers. So far no issues and its a solid bike all the way around!

I'm thinking maybe ... I might sorta ... kinda ... like it. This may be the first of the 2018's that I like. Being able to quickly & easily remove the bags is a big plus for me. It looked really good without them. Change the bars, pay the Harley tax ... good to go. Thank for giving us a view.

I went today to test ride this bike... around my neck of the woods they can’t keep them in stock. Soon as one gets off the truck it’s sold... maybe soon. I did get some seat time on the new 2018 Heritage, and loved it except the running boards. I would have rather had pegs.

Just waiting for the sport glide to get to Australian dealers so I can try it out. I think that Harley have nailed it with this model. Strip it down for around town or load it up for a few days away. I just tried that one today. I'm 5'10" but have short legs. The foward controls were ok but a bit far. The one thing I did not like is the vibration. I have a 1997 sportster and my god I like the shake. This as no shake at all. I guess it suits some people but not my taste. I'll be sure to test drive the street bob next. My short legs will feel more confortable.

Just a quick note: this and all the new softails actually have two counterbalances and hard mounting. It has the one that was in the 107 engine on last year’s touring models that eliminated about 75% of Harley shake and it also has another that eliminates over 90% of what’s left. In other words, Harley shake is virtually eliminated in this and the other new softail models.

Short windshield is not useless, it's all about air redirecting. You will notice objects that hit the spot just above windshield will fly over your head if they're light enough. Rocks, bricks and tools thrown from triggered cagers windows not included. The quick attach fairings nice if only want to use on long rides.

I bought one last year with my inheritance money, I really like it there's not much to dislike, the engine is smooth and powerful enough to keep you happy on motorways, the only problem I have had is leaking push rod covers, but the front one was sorted and the front rear one is going to get sorted.

@HarleyFirestorm5 жыл бұрын
@@CandyBarMoto I got the other one sorted, this sort of thing shouldn't happen on brand new vehicle's, what shocks me (I work in the motor industry) is that Harley Davidson doesn't use engine die, which tells me they don't test the engines other than the rolling road which is bad in my book.

The best new Harley of 2018, possible also of the last decade or so. I still might buy another Softail (Slim or Street Bob) in due time but this is so cool. I'm still sold on the Fat Boy, but If I were looking at the sport glide the big seller for me would be getting all the extra goodies for a cheaper price because it's stock. Bags, and holdfast stuff and a removable fairing would cost a lot to get for a bike that doesn't have it stock. Bags for the fatboy are 1000$ But yeah no one leaves an HD stock. First thing I'm getting is an Engine guard, and a sissybar holdfast setup to hang a backpack on like my dad has on his sporty. Im wondering how much lean angle the engine guard would reduce though. I might have to replace the sportglide as my runner up, choice. Without the fairing the front end looks good. Under 19000$ with an engine guard installed.
@f.garrettlondon76114 жыл бұрын
I like it. I'm not a fan of bags either but this I would do. The fairing looks a little small on the bike but maybe the taller windshield would help. Overall I think its cool definitely will consider it when I get my next bike.

Interesting....my 2000 and 2002 Honda 1100's have two plugs and three valves per cylinder. My 1981 Yamaha Virago has OEM pinwheel style rims which looks like Harley patterned these after. I wonder if the wheels are still being made in Australia for Harley. I've ridden the M8 107 on both a Road King and Road Glide and I liked the performance and quietness of the motor. I also liked what Showa did with the new suspension. I thought it was a big improvement over all previous years. A guy on a bike forum says his boss bought two new 2017 bikes, and one lost the water pump. Harley fixed it under warranty. The warranty ran out and the new replaced part went South and Harley wouldn't fix it. The newly replaced part that failed was 4 months old. The guy didn't say which model, but I'm assuming one of the Street models. Those are made in India, and assembled here. The engines are supposedly manufactured in the US, but who knows where the water pumps are made.
