Did you have power steering? if so which steering pump did you use since m60/M62 engines have steering pumps for gearboxes which creates a lot more pressure than for a steering rack. I'm doing my M62 swap into a 74' Bavaria with an E34 front suspension and from an early 90s VW golf steering rack.

Oh man I want that cnc oil filter adapter block so bad. I found the the x5 part is much smaller but still needs to be tapped

I got the x5 part and tig welded on -8an fittings.

I also found out the m62 oil filter housing has a built in thermostat so you don't need an external thermostat. The line leaving the housing can go to a external cooler before returning back to the block

Hey Does the m60 require a oil cooler or was that installed for peace of mind?

Jon Pop No the m60 doesn't require a oil cooler, I'm going to track this car and wanted the extra insurance. My m20 would reach over 200 at the track. And it was a great deal.

And for the m62?
