im from brazil and i had one master system when i was a kid, they're actually cool. Sega made a partnership with Tectoy (brazilian company) so they could bring the console here but for some reason tectoy never stopped making master system and now we have official and cheap versions of this console with games in their memory selling to this day, which is a little funny cool video btw

7:35 Speedrunner here. Yes, those games sometimes "eat your input". You're not imagining it. Sonic Chaos does that even more often. SMS & NES don't always check for input every frame and some of them check only every half second or so.

There's a fan remake of Sonic 1 and 2 8 bit that adds super sonic, level select, wide-screen, and quality of life changes. I highly recommend them!

Good to see another upload, love your videos and humor. Oh, and as a side note, there's this port to PC and android called the sonic 1 sms remake. It adds tails, knuckles, Ray and mighty to the game as well as some extras. The physics and controls have also been improved. There's even a separate mode called remake that adds marble zone, spring yard, and starlight. Super sonic has also been added. And the chaos emeralds are in the special stages. Fuck, that was alot of writing lol, but I hope this helped...if you wanna play sonic 1 8 bit...I guess.

So many memories from the GG version on my 3DS as a kid... I remember I bought this instead of the Genesis version because I wanted to play Sonic's first ever game and I had the mindset of "It's 8-bit so that means it came out first.". Eventually I caught on and bought the Genesis version, but this was a fun one. Also, Sonic Triple Trouble. Underrated GEM right. there. Play the 16-bit fan remake.

Oh, i forgot to tell you something! There's a brazilian that made a fan "remake" of sonic 1 and 2 8 bit! He added a ton of new characters and modes, all seven chaos emeralds, super sonic, marble zone, starlight zone and springyard zone! It's really damn cool, and all these remakes has a port for mobile, which is pretty nice, and he's also making a "sonic 3 8 bit" it already has a demo but has a ton of cool stuff, like shadow, silver and blaze, and all of them have a new set of movesets, i really recommend you play those remakes

I'm European, and while Master System wasn't that successful in my country (it lost against a unofficial NES clone that ran pirate cartridges) and was released incredibly late (first model in 1992 and second in 1994), I managed to get the model II for a decent price. It had Sonic 1 built in and a normal controller with the cable coming from the top. I have played and completed the entire SMS Sonic trilogy a few times and played it much more than any of the 16-bit games. (I have never completed a single Mega Drive game.) Also, my first ever introduction to the Sonic franchise outside of fangames was Sonic Adventure DX and the emulated Game Gear games that come with it as extra content.

As far as I know the game gear sonic games were only unlockable in The Gamecube version of DX. I've played the Steam & Xbox Arcade versions & remember being disappointed when the Game Gear games were absent content!
