Piaggio BV 250 Review By Owner

Review of my Piaggio BV 250 scooter. Also known as the Beverly 250, it uses the same engine as the Vespa 250 GTS. I really like this motorcycle.

I had the same coolant leak. Only leaked when cold. Hunted for months finally decided my was leaking at the hose clamp on top of engine at thermostat. I removed the cheesy hose clamp and replaced with a standard screw type clamp. That definitely solved the leak issue.

Thanks for posting! I have an 07, same bike. Had it 6-7 months and mostly have had the same experience as you. Mirrors were irritating until I put loctite on the threads. Turn signal button sort of broke and requires special attention but does still operate the signals. I'm satisfied with performance and fuel economy. Have recently been getting roughly 70 mpg. That reminds me-the fuel gauge and speedo are inaccurate, but I fill up every 150 miles and assume 10% optimistic speed. Also, had to add a top case for storage, though I'm not crazy about the appearance. Enjoy the ride, and cheers.

I wonder how would this compare to the 2019 up Honda pcx. Better fuel economy for sure. But thus piaggio seems more serious and firm, more power too of course.

Use Loctite for your mirror, ends the problem

I have a 2006 and have a little over 12,000 miles on it. I have not had any problems such as the leaks you mentioned or the mirrors, except for the starter motor shortly after I purchased it brand new. It was still under warranty. The engine knocks pretty badly now and I am not sure if that is going to be a problem soon or not. The dealer here in town quit supporting them shortly after my purchase, fortunately I have been okay without him.

The dealer in my area also stopped supporting them a month after I bought this one. Fortunately another dealer started selling them. The leak was caused by a hose clamp being improperly installed. I replaced it and now it is fine......Thanks for watching.

what is wrong with engine? have you fix it? my is also from 2006, but it has 45.000 miles (73.000km) and i never had any problems with engine... or anything else...

I see at idle when you had the bike up on the center stand the back wheel was moving. You don't want that back wheel moving at idle. Simply turn down the idle speed until that back wheel stops moving. I'm looking for the same bike you have.

Turning slowly is fine. Don't want much more than what spin you could almost stop with your hand.
