Just signed up for the course because I know nothing about blogging and I just started my youtube channel. Made a few quick videos, but not at all what I want my overall look to be. I have 2 successful Etsy shops and I also lecture at libraries on how to open and run a successful Etsy shop and the importance of social media...so I think your course will complete my journey of being in business for myself. I have been fortunate enough just with my Etsy shops and lectures to quit my job, support my 3 kids, make extra motgage payments, pay off 2 sets of kids braces and my car...and I have no credit cards at all.

Very informative! I’ve never had a desire to start a blog, but I do love having a KZbin channel. I guess I always considered doing both as an option for someone who does more DIYs, recipes, etc. But you explained the benefits to this so well! 😊

Hey Lisa, Great video. I am seriously starting to think about youtube and blogging. Just wanted to let you know that your video where you showed your new farm is just beautiful. I am so happy for you and your family. All the out buildings! Wow! I truly feel the same way you do regarding the 4 miracles you felt as you were going through the selling of your home. The setting in which your farm sits is so cozy and your house is so beautiful. I live in WI and these opportinities to find what you guys found is very rare. Looking forward to viewing your progress. However, plase know I am not pushing any immediate pictures at all. We are 60 and purchased our farm back in 2004 and we are still making improvements. Did not want to be house poor, so projects are being done as funds allow. Enjoy th journey, this new farm is so beautiful and charming, you will get it just as you did with your last home. Again, so delighted for all of you.

Hey Lisa! One thing I found challenging about blogging and YouTubing the same content was how to take my step by step photos when I was filming the process... since I only have one camera. Since I couldn't figure it out, and I usually don't have the time or resources to do a project twice, I stopped blogging. 🙄 What do you do?

SimpLee Beth It's tricky and a bit time consuming to get the angle back to film if I stop and take a picture. I like to get different angles for video. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm probably making it more complicated than it needs to be.

If you have any recent smartphone (last 2 or 3 years) you're more than set to start recording! Don't get caught up on equipment when you're first starting... Just start creating focused content! If you have a little bit of a budget I would personally recommend the Sony A6400 as it's a great little camera for someone just hopping in, but again know that it's NOT necessary if your budget doesn't allow it! 👍👍

Abput how long does each element take to produce (vlog, blog, whatever other outlet)? I'm trying to spin up both KZbin and a blog right now. I'm only succeeding at semi-regular posts to instagram and Facebook.These two month old twins are making it hard! At least the other four kids take naps kind of reliably.

It could take a week if you wanted, but it does take a while to figure out exactly how you want your blog and KZbin channel to look like. Figuring that our comes with trial and error.

As a content consumer I like having in content in the two forms. I feel some topics are best in one format over the other, easier to save for further use, etc. However, if you have a blog you must have grammar and spelling down pat or your credibility goes down the drain! If I don't like the writing style I'll still read if the content is good, but if you can't write a sentence without a spelling or grammar error then I'm gone.
