This is a very nuanced take. I disagree with it ultimately, but I do see some common grounds in the particularities of what’s being said and for that, I’m refreshed. But don’t think I’ve let my guard down. That would be like going to the ball without a dance partner. More on that later.

@@bobmac3724 yes but that nuance makes it divisive when he nuances his way to insinuating people are in sin when they are not i.e. anti-Semitic for wanting a traditional nation as defined by everyone prior to the 20th century. But then when you try to explain that to him down he pivots with nuanced analogies from Narnia (or calls you a fed)

@@Utjb27 many of my detractors apparently have taken up the hobby of looking at me sideways. Not that I mind being sideways, Paul certainly was. What shouldn’t be missed here though is the nature of these sideways glances. Because everyone can acknowledge that sideways glances are good and right, as far as they go. But when you are the one with your gyroscopic head titled off axis, you are last person anyone, especially yourself, that should expect you to be able to know when to stop leaning. For these matters, I take the example of Rahab. Was she a traitor or a godly woman doing the work of God himself? Perhaps you could ask the same thing of me, just be sure to keep your wheels aligned when you do.

@@shannontederoff246 The longer DW withholds the olive branch (without the ultimatum of renouncing sins of which the accused are not guilty), the more reasonable people will see him as the real problem, and worse- the more people are going to start seriously examining the issues that sparked this conflict in the first place. If Doug doesn't want to see more so-called "Nazi Re-Voicers" popping up in his camp, then he needs to take the spotlight off the topic immediately. Someday, Christians will be ready to have a conversation about what was and was not true, per the history books. But we are a long way from that day if merely asking the question prompts such reflexive ire among our elders.

@@aallen5256 Depends what you mean by Holocaust deniers. No reasonable person denies that millions of people were locked up in concentration camps, and that many of them died there. But any reasonable person with basic arithmetic skills will eventually realize that 6 million corpses divided by the number of available crematoria (and assuming the ovens run 24/7 without stopping), comes out to around 70 years- more than 10 times longer than the entire war. That doesn't even include the additional 5 million other victims alleged by Elie Wiesel, nor does it acknowledge the fact that the so-called gas chambers (which were neither properly sealed nor insulated to prevent the highly explosive hydrogen cyanide from escaping) were found only in those camps liberated by the Soviet army- a Marxist juggernaut known for pioneering gas executions of political prisoners after the Bolshevik Revolution. The term DARVO comes to mind. By the way, the Russians forgot to bring a camera when they liberated Auschwitz on January 27, 1945. They came back with a film camera a few months later and recreated the liberation event- and, according to Auschwitz's own historians, "reconstructed" the gas chambers in the process. Those are the images you will see in the history books. History is written by the victors, and victors can lie. Mathematics, chemistry, and archaeology cannot.

My conciliatory analysis is that Doug and James are really seeing something that they're right to need concerned about in twitter followers, but they are wrongfully expecting the millennials to rein them in, and wrongfully believing they endorse and incite what they are seeing, and finally they chose the wrong thing to go after Joel on. These people are almost entirely aligned, but for their different interpretation of messaging methods and what is the most serious issue in this hour. Pray for "The peace of jeru--" by which i mean the peace of the church.

No. Have you actually listened to Joel Webbon or Andrew Isker for that matter? How about Isker's little buddy CJay Engel who clearly wants such power as to ban types of music he hates. Joel has advocated that illegal immigrants who would one day resist deportation should maybe just be shot. These men are extreme. If you listen long enough they say the quiet parts out loud. They can't help it. Especially the younger guys like CJay Engel. You can see the emotions in his face. His tightened brow, the vains in the temples, the stern frown and turst words. He can't help but display his ethnic bias and different hatreds.

Christian nations still will have disagreement and promoting the good of one's own nation, be it blood and soil or propositions, is not wrong or being in some other Kelleristic ditch to unashamedly promote the good of one's own nation and people. "Understanding all of this in a sane and judicious way needs to begin with the understanding that America is simply one more nation among men, like all the other nations, and that we must not be thought of as a propositional or ideological construct. To argue that America is merely a propositional nation is to set up our country as a counterfeit church, as a rival to the true faith." I wouldn't say it's ONLY a propositional or ideological construct. But we are different in the sense that we were intentionally founded, for the intentional purpose of freely following Christ. Which is why people can come here *legally*, from anywhere, and if they *assimilate*, they can be considered Americans, just like those born here.

How sad it must be only have one verse (taken out of context) to lean on for your pessimism. Here's some things to consider and study: 1) This is not the only place that Jesus mentions narrow ways. Perhaps we could learn more from his parable of the narrow door, in response to the seemingly relevant question from the disciples “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” (Luke 13:22). Jesus notes, as pointed out in the comment above, "people will come from east and west, and from north and south, and recline at table in the kingdom of God." The destruction of a certain group is featured, but not of the whole world. Hardly grounds for eschatological pessimism. 2) The spiritual children promised to Abraham, i.e. Christians, are promised to be as numerous as the stars in the sky and sand on the seashore. John's glimpse into the throne room tells us there was "a great multitude that no one could number" (Rev 7:9). These are glorious promises of many many many Christians. There is no comparable teaching on the number of the lost. 3) Christ came to save the world. This is so basic that I don't see how people miss it - John 1:29, John 3:16-17, 1 John 2:2, 1 John 4:14, Revelation 5:9. Do you think he will fail? In the second Psalm the Father promises the Son the nations if he would ask. Do you think Jesus forgot to ask?

I was trying to think of - so, like myth = a story that tells truth so then, was thinking of wives tales... e.g "sit too close to the tv, and you'll wreck your eyes" ...physically not true (we now actually strap screens to our eyes (VR) and it has been shown that it will not damage your perception) but, if you spend your whole life looking at screens, you'll get a warped perception of what is and what is not real ("sit too close to the tv, and you'll wreck your eyes") tried to see "if you eat within 30 minutes before swimming, you'll drown" in this way ...hmmm.... so, water = chaos, eating = sustenance (incorporate new stuff) time = change then remembered a vid on the Joe Rogan podcast where an Aussie dude and Joe were talking about hunting, and said... We should all know how they brought about the end of their tribulations. I think this is happening again, in the name of secular Universalism instead of the theological-based kind. And the "mechanism" if you will that produces the tyranny is the same either way. Never mix political power with abstract ideas. The thing to hold onto is to do well by the proverbial city in which you dwell. (Jer. 29:7). Why? Because we're pilgrims here. (1 Peter 2:11). The same requirement for pilgrims then is the same commandment for pilgrims now. Plus, we're to abstain from the proverbial bait that Doug referenced. But, if we do well by the city, then what of H1B visas? Well, that depends on what's objectively good for the city. If it's good, fine. If not, then it needs to be made to be good. Congress has the authority to make that determination. We ought to tell them whether we think it's good or bad, and tell them why, then pray they make the wisest choice. After that, enforce the law - even the onerous laws. Because, only laws that prohibit what Christ requires, or require what Christ prohibits, are mischievous laws. The rest should be obeyed and enforced in order to give honor to whom honor is due.

It's quite interesting seeing us Christians starting to take law and politics seriously. Though it shouldn't consume us we should understand it. No different than how Jesus was tested by the law of his time or how the devil tested him on God's law.
@possumhunter1179
@possumhunter1179 2 күн бұрын
@jannyjt2034 All law is God's law. (Romans 13). The issue at hand is teaching the authorities that, whether they like it or not, what they force (since they have the power of the sword) matters to their Maker. They are already under constraint of the King of Kings. And He submits to no man, because He's the King. He lays down His own life, and takes it up again. Earthly authorities have authority only from Him. And, they have power from Him only, as well. There's a distinction between power and authority. Sometimes earthly powers do unauthorized things. When that happens, they're just being regular lawbreakers who happen to temporarily have power. But it's always temporary, because Jesus always takes the tyrant's power away.
@jannyjt2034

@possumhunter1179 true. But you are forgetting the concept of persecution. Christians were (and are) persecuted because we reject ungodly laws of the state. We are to live at peace when we can live at peace but not when it infringes on our commitment to God. Notice we willingly choose to live in peace (obeying laws, paying taxes, etc) but the state brings persecution to us by forcing us (or making it lawful) to act in ungodly ways.
@possumhunter1179
@possumhunter1179 Күн бұрын
@jannyjt2034 The state never forces anyone to act in ungodly ways. Neither do multinational conglomerate criminal enterprises, or other centralizations of earthly power. Every human being has volition, and they always choose that which they most desire at any particular point in time. Now, the secular man will desire to behave secularly, and that often involves nasty behavior. But, the man filled with the Spirit of God will have had his desires altered by the Spirit. And no man does that which he doesn't desire to do. Now, you may take issue with that. But remember, the thug on the street can hold you at gunpoint and demand your wallet, and you may think you didn't desire to give it up after doing so. In reality, you desired your life over your wallet. So, a human will always do that which they most desire. The question is, "What do you desire? Christ, or chaos?"

@@jannyjt2034 No degree of persecution forces any human to behave sinfully. A human always sins because they desire to do so. Hugh Latimer would agree.

And neither did my parents. That's why they chose to raise their children in a different part of the city than the area where most Puerto Ricans chose to reside, even though that meant losing so much of their Puerto Rican culture - the REAL stuff - like the language, the food, and the people. You will not lump me in with that garbage. Ethnicity is how people were born. We can't control it. Culture is, in great part, what we believe, which then informs how we behave. We CAN control that.
