I finally highlighted my own hair after watching your videos and it worked so well! The cream lightener feels less damaging than my salon highlights and the Sally’s version of shades eq worked extremely well! I did a root melt and am questioning why I didn’t try this sooner. I love my stylist but we just can’t afford to pay what she totally deserves for her services. I’m hoping I can keep up on the maintenance and go back to the salon when finances are better. Thank you so much for your amazing, detailed instructions that make sense to non-stylists! You and Ellebangs are my favorite hair content creators ❤

Thanks Brittnee for being real and fully explaining in all your videos. First time I did my hair, I kept toner with 20v develop on my roots too long which caused red roots lmao! Second time, I got a great overall blonde highlights but I didn’t bring the bleach all the way down so some of my top is lighter than the bottom but you’re right; each time it gets easier and you get a bit better. However, I feel like I understand toners but they sometimes don’t react the way I thought they would. But again, trial and error.

Thanks again.

The toners as you know wash off so is it ok to dye hair weekly? I just hate the bleach color all yucky yellow or orangy a bit.
@BrittneeAlexus3 жыл бұрын
❤️❤️You can do the whole hair with the toner. It goes on towel dried hair for up to 15 minutes. You mix the toner with 10 volume developer (this will make it deposit only and not change any other parts of your hair) You can do the toners weekly if you want- I just do mine in the shower and pretend to shave my legs while it processes. I will make a video on toners for you soon!! and the back❤️💕 Send ma my love!

Thank you for this. Can you please explain why you're doing the foiling in this method rather than doing a mohawk. Doesn't this foil placement you've done create highlights that are chunkier looking? Even a mohawk pattern slightly off center due to the sectioning centering the part would work, right?

Hi!! I tried to highlight my hair myself with Wella lightner. My ends (2 ft from the top of my head!) got white like I wanted but the top is patchy/and yellow orange. I don't know if I should redo it by using the root touch up method or tone it first with the T18?
@aprilm95513 жыл бұрын
T18 would not correct the orange, because the hair is not light enough. T18 only works on very light blond. You would need to apply more bleach on the orange areas to bring them up to a lighter blond. Your result probably means you didn't apply a thick enough amount of the lightener to the top areas that turned orange.

This looks like fun ! My roots grow in silver & brown & my hairs dyed dark , almost black . Should I try it ? What volume developer would I use ?
@BrittneeAlexus3 жыл бұрын
The roots will process much quicker than the bottom parts, so for that It would be best to do the bottom part, complete the whole part line, then go back and do the roots (it is a pain to do it this way) however if you just put the lightener on the whole hair strand, it will be discolored. You can do it that way but you would need to tone it afterwards. The developer volume is up to you- 20 is a go to if you are unsure- you can always wipe them out like I did towards the end of the video if you notice it is processing faster than you would like.

Im a level 9 but my long hair is healthy. I dont think ill be ok with at home results . I wish I could be. I was trying to save money. Because we only put bleach on my new growth sometimes I only need 10 v and we tone the rest. Idk why I spent $60 on crap. If I get brave ill update you. But I care too much. @erismana21053 жыл бұрын
I'm not a hairdresser you did not ask for my opinion but my two cents is I would do darker blondish first to see if you're like how low lights look
@BrittneeAlexus3 жыл бұрын
agree- would do a darker blonde at first (maybe an 8) if you go anything below that something with red in it- it may have a tint of red in the light but will cancel out any green that could pop up. pravana makes a “color boost” of just red pigment that is really nice- you can add a few drops to any color (6N + 2 drops of red booster is really pretty)
