This happens because there is a specific way to take someone from being a blonde to chocolate brown hair👩.
In this video, I'll be showing you my client, Cass's, blonde to brunette hair transformation. I will share some "tint-back" tips with you that will help you understand how to make chocolate brown hair color rich.
Anytime you're going to change someone's hair color 3 levels or more darker, you will need to color fill the hair. Basically, that means you need to restore the pigment that was removed in the first place (from lightening the hair).

I currently have this colour and it's just too warm! Really red undertones. What would say to use to neutralise it a bit? Specific colours on the chart or that you'd mix up? Still same level but with green or blue undertone to cancel some of the red?

Oh you can just put the copper color right over top. You only need to fill when its 3 or more levels darker

play with bright colors until you're done then go dark! You're already blonde so you have the perfect palette. If you end up going dark enough, it will mask any staining from the direct dyes anyways! Play play play!

haha I know. I explained to her that she needed to restore the warm pigment for the color to look saturated. She wanted the warmth, she just didnt want to look auburn

A word of advice: look into fast hair growth fortified shampoo to double hair growth.
