This might be one of the best example of Drums and Bass working together in the history of music. Clem Burke and Nigel Harrison are KILLING IT on this track. If you've ever played that bass solo and realized how complicated it is, then looked at how fast he plays it, it's just incredible.
@RacerXGTO Жыл бұрын
I agree! Additionally, from a drummer's perspective, his hi-hat sizzle accents are spot on in a similar fashion to "Heart Of Glass". When they both break into the solo, the drummer holds the beat with the bass drum all the while playing a ghost note double kick on 2 and 4. This is such an under-rated performance.

I believe this particular single came out in 1979, but yeah, I share your sentiment. In my opinion the last decent year for pop music in general and the last time I could actually listen to the radio without having the change the station when dog shit came on was 1987...specifically August. I remember it was a particularly hot day, we were riding in my friend's Mustang Convertible going to Cedar Point and something I can only describe as Rap came on the station and it has been down hill since.

Thats because musically, the great stuff we regard as the 80's went from 77-78 till about 86. Some decent stuff later in the decade, cocteau twins, sugarcubes, pixies, janes addiction, but bubblegum pop/rock ruined great bands (The Cars you might think, magic; Van Halen jump ugghhh) until grunge said screw this pop crap and gave us another 7-8 years of great music.

Well, I guess I should've specified the ages. I mean, kids that are old enough to speak should hear this and other genres from the past (before they started sanitizing creativity in the arts), and the parents should also answer any questions the kids have about the music and/or music videos. For humanity's sake, expose your children to music by talented musicians!!!
