Blondie Movies - 4 Original Opening Credits + Some AMC and TCM Intros

Original opening credits to Blondie, Blondie Meets the Boss, Blondie Takes a Vacation, and Blondie Plays Cupid.
Blondie Plays Cupid includes an introduction from AMC's Nick Clooney as well as a more current intro from TCM's Ben Mankiewicz. The TCM version also contains a variation of the more familiar syndication credits, but with different background music.
I also included the TCM intro to Blondie in Society which leads into the syndication credits with song intact.

Thanks Jaycub for this great reminder of what a funny and great series this was. They went from 1938 until the early fifties, and seeing Danny Mummert and Larry Simms from little tots to young men was a treat. We still have them showing on a cable channel KCOPDT3 with the redone titles a few even cut a bit to fit a pre-determined time slot when they were first syndicated. I wish that someday we could get the entire series mastered from original negatives or fine grains. I'm 76, so time is a factor. They hold up and still very funny.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I've always had a soft spot for the Blondie movies. I agree they need an official box set release, but from what I understand, the current rights holder has no desire to put one out.

@@MrJyacub maybe Sony Pictures and King Features should had an official home media release of Blondie Movies just like what Warner Bros. did for Popeye cartoons with original titles since they had a deal.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that I've been waiting more than 50 years to see the original Columbia credits on these. If I may name drop....Leonard Maltin and I belonged to the N.Y.C. chapter of the "Sons Of The Desert" back then and among our several encounters was a discussion of this series. Leonard had asked me if I'd ever seen a print with original titles to which I replied that I hadn't. Until now the prints I've seen (including a couple of 16mm items in my collection) have all been the usual King Features reissues. Those credits are undeniably cute but I still had hoped to one day see what you've uploaded here. I assume AMC had access to these Columbia prints some time back but arriving late to cable I never saw them. Interestingly TCM evidently had/has only the reissues as is evidenced by the latter portion of your upload. I've always loved these 28 wonderful films however one thing that perplexes me is Lake's interpretation of Dagwood. In the strip Dagwood is a victim though in the films Lake plays him as an idiot. Still great fun.

I'm very happy that I could help you in your Blondie journey. As I recall, AMC didn't have all of the original opening credits, but definitely more than I managed to save. I was surprised that TCM seems to only have the syndicated credits, but it is interesting that there was a variation without the vocal... I wonder why?
