Debbie Harry, beautiful as always. She's such a legend. 70 and still rocking hard. I hate how fans always tries to say that she looks old (DUH SHE'S 70 GUYS) and tell that she looks "tired" "wasted" or even using the word "ridiculous", makes me think about one thing Madonna said "In this business you are not allowed to get old" "And finally, do not age, because to age is a sin. You will be criticized, you will be vilified, and you will definitely not be played on the radio.”

I’m pretty sure not a single member of One Direction has ever written their own song. Even if they come up with some parts, they need someone else to ghostwrite the rest. Pathetic what’s considered “music” these days. And I’m 24, not some grumpy 60 year old.

New York City was the best educational experience in the 70's. Pre Rudy Giuliani N.Y.C. had this pioneer like vibe where you fled the percution of anywhere else U.S.A. and you could be taking your life into your hands just getting your mail. I'm glad I experienced that. Blondie had a camp attitude and it drew from the girl groups, surf music, sci-fi movies, and waaaay before the optics that are the previlant in music, Blondie had Debbie as a Monroe glamor pin up girl which wasn't a central issue. Their music was. A great American pop group. I always appreciate the Ellie Greenwich background vocals on the earlier recordings. Well schooled band w/ amazing players.

Its Deborah’s soul that is young, she has a fabulously un age-able personality, it keeps her young... I could not imagine mine nor anyone else’s grandmother getting up and singing this or any other Blondie track without looking a total embarrassment, but Miss Harry is simply ART in itself a UNIQUE woman born with 100% perfection, looks, personality, Talent & Fame. She’s had it all ... xx❤️👄👄👄 There will never be another.

I couldn't give a shit what anyone says about Blondie and in particular Debbie Harry in this performance or any other performance for that matter..."oh Debbie looks beyond wasted and almost depressed" - who gives a shit...this band was one of the sharpest (as in STYLE and class) back in its halcyon days and Debbie Harry was and STILL IS just as cool today. Debbie is an absolutely amazing woman. She may be blonde in he hair colour but boy she ain't no stereo typical BIMBO make no error. Debbie Harry is 100% pure CLASS and she has one heck of an intelligent brain and intellectual mind to accompany it. Blondie was ahead of its time in my opinion. They took the piss out of the '80s brilliantly and I for one loved every minute of them. They so never took themselves too seriously and boy was that rare for that decade and I should know because it was the decade when I turned 20 ('83) over here in New Zealand. The '80s was a decade of well...what really?...a hangover from the '70s maybe. I so wished I had turned 20 a decade earlier ('73)...as I always preferred the '70s to the '80s...I guess the '80s was just so 'full of itself' to be honest. A decade of sheer utter wannabes whereas the decade previously was the decade of all decades in my opinion. Boy did the '70s rock. And we are talking HARD rock and even harder rockers. Gone were the trippy/'heady' days of the Lysergic acid diethylamide (acid) from the '60s and in walked Dr Coke. The slow lane was over taken by the fast lane, lane hoppers big time. All, well mostly as a result of the biggest rock festival on the planet to date and it will NEVER be beaten; 1960 WOODSTOCK - scheduled over three days on a dairy farm in New York state from August 15 to 17, 1969, but which ran over four days to August 18, 1969. Oh god please take me to the time machine please, please, please, and more and more pleases. Leighton (New Zealand)

Blackscorpion1963 The 80s really doesn't get enough credit we got The Thrash and Glam war MTV 2 of the greatest singers Ozzy Osborne and Glenn Danzig were fired from there old bands Black Sabbath and The Misfits to make a successful solo album with a huge hit for ozzy it was crazy train for Glenn it was Mother and the style was so free the 80s gave some of the best bands Skid row Guns N Roses Cinderella Mötley Crüe and White Snake it was also the beginning of Metallica and Megadeth Madonna was on the rise and saved by the bell was something that gave kids and teens something to relate to and guid them through there life it was righteous

+A Prisoner Of My Own Mind - The only really innovative aspect of the 80s for me was the creation of the new music genre in terms of both name and sound was 'New Wave'. It produced some top-notch guitar rock as well as a potent, keyboard-dominated subgenre called synth pop. Key artists for me were; 'The Cars', 'The Police', 'Duran Duran', 'Culture Club' and Australian artist 'Icehouse'.

I don't understand the war between 1D fans and Blondie fans because they are both very talented musicians and have distinctly different styles therefore incomparable.
@chrisonacrutch483010 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't call 1D talented musicians. They sing. One boy plays guitar, but they don't write their own music like Blondie did. That's a big difference. That's why there is a "war". It's not even a war. It's kids who like a boy band vs. adults who like a band from their past. Some people also hate bands that do covers. Not that Blondie has never done a cover. But this is a signature Blondie song, so some find it sacred. I don't hate the 1D version, I just don't care for that kind of music. They had fun with it, the video is cute, but that's what they're their for, to look cute and have fun. Nothing wrong with that. But a lot of people, myself included, prefer bands that write their own, and perform their own music.
