The Bangles were a band, for sure. When I first saw them in the early ‘80s, Go-Go’s were all the rage (and now in the RnR HoF). But their singular talent was Jane Wiedlin; not so, the Bangles, who were-a BAND!

Most ppl don't even know that this is a Simon & Garfunkel song that came out in the late 60s. I saw S&G in 2004, and they sounded so damn good and were so spot on it was amazing. You don't hear much of them today even with all the nostalgia, but to me they are up there with the best of them for their era.

Good job! Back in 1967?, the Simon and Garfunkel original was my first "break up song", in 7th grade. I was heart broken when that first serious girlfriend broke things off, and I had a rough time making it through that hazy, cold winter. I somehow lived to love again. 💔 "It"s funny how my memory skips while reading over manuscripts of unpublished rhymes ..... drinking my Vodka and Lime!" Imagine the lyrical courage that it takes to not pare down a line like that ...... but, of course, that's also the reason that it works so well!!! Paul Simon is the king!!!

There are few cover songs where the band almost turns the song into something different that's so amazing you almost think it's the bands own song. By the way, back when Annette (the original bass player who came back for the old first album release) was in the band, the Bangles did this song with Debbi (the drummer) singing lead. Even Annette who I understand didn't play the bass since she left at the end of '83 was solid. Amazing how they first brought her back in 2014 and she just kept them rocking on after Micki retired.
