They weren't even able to prifile James properly. And you consider this a good job? It's totally different character. There's no supression of unwatend memories - he despized his wife and finally murdered her. That's why all the acting in SH 2 is weird. Everyone is fkd up. James, Angela, Eddie. Here they talk like in Turkish soap opera. And as soon as you see James, his hands are shaking. Why? Because he got a letter from the wife he murdered. Jake Summerland knows he butchered his wife, while James isn't aware of this in original. This is a reimagining, that not only butchered James, but also mixed reality, foggy Silent Hill, hellish SIlent Hill, and movies version of Silent Hill all together. Funny how on a whim, as soon as Jake and Marticia enters hospital, a grey, lead-heavy like sky and all the fog dissapears, and we have lovely sunbeams outside. Or that you can hear rain in hellish SH, which lies in totally different dimensions, that acts like a void, that by itself puts you into claustrophobia mode. Nope. You are in hellish hospital, and there's a normal rain outside. xD I would say that's a beacon of hope and reality. They've fkd up Silent Hill big way, by simply not understanding what it is, how it operates, and but not putting any effort into understanding psychological profiles of the characters. It's not only James that was remade into Jake, but also Eddie that became Evan, who's always sweating for no particular reason?

Dear Konami and Bloober, you guys made something very special happen when you green lit this remake. Last night I just finished the apartment section and the whole time I had the biggest smile within my heart while simultaneously being spooked and cautious around every corner. I've been so enthralled in the experience this far and amazed at what you guys have done to honor the source. Obviously the whole fan community was rooting for this to be great while fearing that it would leave them disappointed. With Jake Summerland, Evan, Miranda, Mirandola, Mangela, and a world that is a mix of reality, foggy and hellish versions of Silent Hill. They didn't catch the drift what Silent Hill is and how it operates. I won't delve into amount of specular maps they put almost on everything, making it look like made out of fresh clay, or being wet. I just mention that they put SH 1 sirens in few places, and weather of foggy SH changed to sunny when Jake and Mirandola entered hospital. These two examples are taken directly from first movie, which is also a reimagining of Silent Hill. And why Jake Summerland? Weird acting behind James in Silent Hill 2 comes from his repression of murder. He thinks he's normal. Here, Jake acts like he just doesn't want other to know he's a murderer. There are no shaking hands in SH2, but in reimagining you can clearly see that. Why? Because in SH 2 James is only partially himself. That's why he's always kinda off, weird in talking and acting. That's why he came to Silent Hill hoping to see Mary. And that behaviour applies to all characters in 2001 game. In SH 2 Reimagining we were served turkish soap opera dialogues, that doesn't represent James. They totally missed the architecture of his psyche.

I have played almost all the horror games of the Bloober team and I liked them very much. When I found out back in the time that Bloober will be the responsible ones for the Silent Hill 2 Remake which is one of the best games in the industry out there in my opinion, I had many hopes and trust that these guys will make it right even if the mission is a difficult one. And now I am so happy that I can say that without a doubt. You guys made me happy and proud. We feel and experience the Silent Hill town so much more now and James puts you so much in the atmosphere with his character design, the voice acting and of course, the sound design of the Maestro Yamaoka. I appreciate your great work and for keeping this masterpiece game to its original roots but in a different beautiful design level from every aspect. I always heard about Silent Hill 2. Never really played a game from this franchise. So with the Remake of Silent Hill 2 and how everybody seems to appreciate this game I was like: "Yeah, let's watch a playthrough." After that I was like: "Wow ... This has to be the best story I've ever seen in a videogame. That was like a few days ago. Preordered the remake, finished it with my favourite ending and I was not dissapointed. And I really love that you can see, that James is really done at the end of the end of the game. You've done a damn good job there.

Honestly, you blew my expectations out of the water. I played Layers of Fear and streamed it back in the day when it first came to Xbox in early access and loved it. I was skeptical about the remake because those are HUGE shoes to fill but you pulled it off. I pre-ordered the deluxe edition because I had hopes that this was about to be special and don’t regret dropping $80. I don’t buy AAA games at full price often anymore (family comes first) so this being my first full priced game of the year I bought, I have absolutely no regrets. Bloober, please keep up the amazing work. Truly outdone yourselves with this passion project. I already write in other places, but again... You guys did a fantastic job with this remake. Everything that SH2 is, its still present... And more scary, more dark, more beautiful... Bloober , By remaking this game you brought it back from dead. i was longing for this game for so long that you made it true . i never believed that i will be playing james my childhood hero that i hated so much and loved so much again , Thank you bloober and i hope konami gives you the go ahead for silent hill 1 , i would love to play it and experience it again. :) one month ago, the story trailer dropped :D and i instant feel the empathy and vulnerability from James 😢 beyond good acted from Luke Roberts. today, i'm very happy to finnaly play the remake 😃 it's all about moments, love, honesty and truth and all that, the actors also you blobber team, deliver that :-) there is so much passion in that big big project of an remake. the most important is honesty and love because without, nothing good or real love can exist, when you do something good you have to be honest. i felt that all that, when i saw the trailers, you make something very special bloober. greetings from austria, you have an enormus fan Viktor 😃
