This was an absolutely epic short film. It developed characters, introduced vulnerabilities, gave glimpses into the society in which it was set, and gave a dazzling display on film. Really a top notch production with a balance of story and effects to make one watch it more than once, told in that very Aussie style of a localized story and the Irish tale of the adventure ballad. A great watch!

Dodge is an exceptional character and the actor is great. The world building is also far better than the vast majority of mainstream offerings out there.

First, I think it's great that more locally-produced SO is coming out from Australia. Second, the amount of work put into this really shows. However, this movie looks like a whole universe is being squeezed into just fifteen minutes. I'm hooked to know more about the characters and the world the producers have created.

She was still a baby when I saw the first NOVR and people were killing or getting killed over her. Now she's a young grown up. I wish this concept would transform into a full blown full length feature film. Not a series with lame episodes just like what others do with famous franchises, but movies with prequels and sequels. Actually, a format just like "Firefly/Serenity" would be very, very nice, in fact, the NOVR here reminds me of that strong young female personality that Summer Glau played in Firefly. This is a great work with very good concept. It will work.

Thank you. I really enjoyed it. I would LOVE to see what you guys could do with a giant budget. Story is great. Your actors are great. Costumes are great. I'd love to see what they could pull off with more takes, rehearsals, resources, etc. If you had the same budget, I honestly believe you guys would crap on 90% of the Scifi coming out of Hollywierd. Small criticism if you care =). If I added anything to this film it would be a Military advisor on the set. Maybe you do but, some of the shots made get cringe. Lay prone or get in cover you fucks!!1 hahah. Other than some of the tactics I really enjoyed it. Awesome film guys.

I like the concept very much kind of a cross between Ender's Game and Battlestar Galactica the major problem I have with it is the lens flare overuse if this was to be reshot with less lens flare and smoke this would be more watchable and easier for people to follow and you would get a higher positive response and more subscribers and oh by the way lose the shaky-cam that effect is so overrated other than that great job to everyone involved hope you will take the suggestions to Heart

Good short, although the characters, ships and action are sometimes too hard to follow, either being too dark, or too quick or obscured by special effects. The music is also too loud in some places and should be toned down a little bit in order for the actor's words to be clearly heard. I would also amp the sound on the "telepath's voice", so that it adds more weight to the actor's reply on "Don't you hear her?" - it being clear to him because it's so loud (the girl, after all, is unable to control her gift completely or accurately), but not to anyone else (because she isn't talking to anyone else). If I need to ask where certain characters are (because there is so much happening on screen), that means that the characters are not being highlighted. I love space and ground battles, but I need to know where everyone is so that I can suspend my disbelief in immersing myself in that scene. I need to know where the good guys are, and I need to know where the bad guys are and how one side is fighting the other. Having glowing shields, explosions and globs (glowing orbs) being hurled back and forth doesn't help if I don't know who is doing what and what the tactical layout of the fight actually is? Also, repeating scenes or dialogue (He's got a bomb, for example) is also a no-no. You can someone remarking about it in one place, and him grabbing something and holding it up in another scene, but to do it twice or more tends to get annoying. The only place where it might work, is if it is remarked as a joke somewhere else or referred to indirectly (something that goes boom, for example).
@purgatoryofhope14146 жыл бұрын
Really hope you guys can push this for a Netflix or KZbin series this is great it almost makes you think of Battlestar Galactica Etc I mean it's really cool. The premise of humanity changing is not a faults one as we go into outer space if we do do that we will probably change if we survive. At one time man was more spiritually LED capable of gifts which we have eradicated through extermination of those people who had these gifts but those gives me become important as we expand into more dangerous worlds outer space being careful how you and having precognition could be very important or people may decide that they want to live in a world in a society where people are like that. So it's very interesting, a little rough on the eyes with the flares and the excessive Battlestar Galactica weapons and I think it's kind of funny that the enemies using flare guns while we're using machine guns doesn't make sense I would think that we would also be using electromagnetic guns also but maybe electromagnetic doesn't work on the enemy while it works on us. Lot of variables there that could be explained over time like a weapons officer say saying hey you know don't pick up an enemy's weapon is not going to work for you make sure you have yourself a really armed blah blah blah you know help people understand why we are using old-time crap while the enemies using modern weaponry. And please don't play the women that they are helpless moaners like the wife was I'll tell you if I was living out in the world like that and I know that there were aliens that were wanting to kill us I would be armed and dangerous I wouldn't be waiting for my husband to defend me I would make sure that I was able to defend myself and if my home and my child so please don't play the women here to be the old Prairie wife who just sat there and let the any herself get run over by the way again if you're going to do this please. Otherwise great series congratulations hope you guys can pull this off I think it's definitely something that should go forward I seen a lot of these videos and this is definitely something better than 98% of the stuff out there thanks and thanks for not leaving the endings ambiguous we know there sequels but at least finished that session.
@sigmacademy5 жыл бұрын
That would be okay, if Space Above and Beyond, Battlestar Galactica and most other scifi properties didn't explore the same kind of theme (humanity (the symbol, not the people) among the stars). When creating new content, it's always good to recycle old themes in a new way or present it in a new format?

Part 2 of N,O.V.R.??!!! It's not that often us die hard short film fans get to see a sequel, let alone one that's as compelling as the first (kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6fSc5yhp9priMk, which is AWESOME btw) but this one shines. And friggin' Dodge is BACK! WTH is up w/the Templars???? I sincerely hope there's another installment to this story. Just like the first chapter, this sequel has great acting and now that the children are grown up a bit, they get to show off how well they know their craft as well; with just the right blend of practical and cgi effects this second chapter has massive replayability. (Standing Ovation) Keep on truckin' and Break a Leg!

Others have said it, but I have to say it too. The repetitive smoke and lens flares kill this cool space film for me. Just let it be normal, dude. I wonder who (director/producer/filmmaker?) have the ultimate power to put these smoke effects and redundant sparks to make this film less great?
