great game and beautiful armies guys! The Sons are absolutely stunning (not that the Angels aren't, we have just seen them before! ;) ) couple things to note for you as far as rules from the game: @53:16, you can wait to declare your Shooting reactions until after armor saves are failed but before damage mitigation, so you could have saved your evade reaction until you saw that only one of the terminators was going to die before making that choice (it's not like last edition where you had to Jink before any dice were rolled, so your instincts are good on that at least but not necessary anymore!) (pg. 160 AoD Rulebook) (also same thing at 1:25:45 with Ral against the lone melta-gunner) @54:00 same thing with the Assault reactions; you declare them after charge distance is determined (rolled +/- any modifiers, etc.) but before any models are moved, so you could have waited to see the SoH terminators were going to fail their charge and then Overwatch them instead of Holding the Line (pg. 160 AoD Rulebook) @54:40 Day of Sorrows does not allow you to Deep Strike, Outflank, or Subterranean Assault so your javelin shouldn't have been able to Outflank (pg. 252 Liber Astartes) @57:18 krak grenades do not have a ranged profile, they are melee only now (pg. 142-143 of Liber)(and not that it mattered here) @58:28 Rending attacks do not add the +1 to armor pen for being AP2; it is resolved at the base AP of the weapon so the drop pod should not have exploded (pg.246 AoD Rulebook) @1:20:55 those assault marines had Hatred(Everything) from the RoW, which the Apothecary would have also gotten as he is part of that unit for all intents and purposes (pg. 116 Liber Astartes) These are of course nit-picks and it is totally understandable to miss stuff when playing, much less recording. I say these things because I think you guys have some of the best Heresy batreps on KZbin at the minute and want them to be as good as they can be, and I know a lot of new players are looking for batreps they can learn from! Great work guys, great game, and keep up the great content!

I've never played a game of 40k but how on earth do you keep track of every model movement and if they have shot?

Normally try and do it in a logical order. Also if you have a good opponent they normally remind you if you've forgotten to do something

Great Battle Guys. Turn 1 when the Terminators were shooting at the Dawnbreakers, you should have considered using the blood angels advanced reaction. You would have got the hammer of wraith from charging into him with the jump packs, you would have been wounding on 2s rather than 4s, and you would have got an extra attack on each dawnbreaker, rather than the terminators getting the extra attack. Could have drastically changed that combat.

At around 40:40 a comment is made about wounds for combat resolution. Excess wounds never count. Pg 188. Beautiful armies and a great batrep! Looking forward to more!

Excess wounds caused in a challenge do count towards combat resolution unlike any excess wounds caused outside the challenge p199, 2 conflicting rule statements but the challenge one takes precedence over the general combat resolution one since the rule on p188 only says that excess wounds done in the normal combat don't count to resolution, its almost like GW didn't bother reading through what they wrote before publishing....

Despite taking Day of Sorrow, what is your take on Day of Revelation? Is it on par with Sorrow, or is one better than the other?

Both are pretty good. With a mission that has lots of objectives I'd say day and f sorrows is better as you make use of the benefits more. But missions that you need to get forward quickly the day of revalations will be better and have a devastating impact when you charge the turn they drop. So I'd say overall on oar with each other but different missions will make a difference in how they perform. Hope that helps

Really enjoyed this game with some great highs and lows throughout and nice armies too. I’ve recently had a discussion with other players regarding reserves/ deep strike assaults/flanking assaults etc. They seem to think you can’t assault when arriving from reserve. Which you can’t from a standard reserve move. Though i read it as you can providing you are in a deep strike/ drop pod/ outflank and subterranean assault group specifically. I see you played it this way so am i correct.?🤔

Yeah you are playing it correctly. Just the standard walking on from your own board edge is when you can't assault

Hi guys me again spanner in the works for rules query you answered. In the assault vehicle special rules it says you can’t assault if you arrived from reserve that turn. As deep strike, pod assault etc are all sub rules for reserves will this essentially stop you assaulting out of vehicle the turn you arrive.? Also standard pods are only bs2.

In the drop pod assault rules on pg99 the last paragraph says you can. So will overwrite that rule. This could be different for outflank I'm not to sure. And normal reserves obviously you can't assault.

thanks. its a bit long winded but ill try to cut it down! The bases are first coated in a mix of AK Interactive DIORAMMA Sand and MUD products, I then sprinkle over some Army Painter brown earth and some stones and leave to dry. To paint its a layered dessert sand and a dry brush of MIG Drybrush sand paint. The model is then stuck on and I use a few pigment colours on the base and model to tie them together. Hope that makes sense!

I have heard the opinion that they are the worst, weakest army for the traitor legions. The definitely get absolutely disintegrated in every report I ever see. Sad because I'm picked them for my legion... guess they're just a bunch of chumps.

Their special units are a trap. Too expensive for what they do. Justaerin are okayish as a non-command squad, but reavers are just worse veterans in every way. Chieftains are not better than legion command squad either. It’s a pretty sad legion with nothing special.

Good looking table and beautiful miniatures. But I don't see the slightest sense in playing SoH in this edition. I'm leaving aside the fact that I haven't seen them win on YT in HH2.0, but they are simply incredibly expensive and slow models, with weapons that are effective at short range.... resulting in low numbers on the table, which makes them very vulnerable to response, and the biggest problem is the lack of a cheap and effective way to deliver them into battle. The Dreadclaw has lost assault, and vehicles are now lethal to transport models, especially with T4 and a very high price in points.

Your observation is correct. SoH are very weak if you make a themed droppod list. Most SoH armies were assault focused before so that is why they lose any battle on yt. Numberswise its simpel if you spend 1/3 on transports that dont give much benefit its an uphill battle. A "vanilla" SoH list is still good, but kinda boring.

Reactions have fundamentally crippled deep striking/outflanking, melee focussed armies. The fact that many of the delivery vehicles have also lost assault is just a punch to the nose. I pity the fool who attempts to deep strike next to 20 iron warriors tacs with shrapnel bolters and augury scanners running hammer of olympia. They will eat 60 pinning shots before they even get to move, 60 shots again if they shoot then 60 shots again if they charge. I mean, good for me but its just sad at that point.
