Blood in Semen?

The condition of having blood mixed with your semen is medically known as hematospermia or hemospermia. It can make the semen appear brownish-red or red in color.
Although the presence of blood in semen is not normal, it is reasonably common. The condition can affect men of all ages. However, hematospermia is more often observed among men between the ages of 30 and 40 years.

I’m my case it’s been going on for 2 an half months now it’s brown color semen and it burn as a pee or eyaculate , I do have recurring UTI for many years but never seen blood , I started taking Warfarin last year as u mention so don’t know if that’s relate to the blood in semen , but I’m just gonna go to the hospital emergency room I’m tired of this uncomfortable feeling

thank you for your comment. Being on warfarin or other blood thinners does increase the likelihood of having blood in the urine. urinary tract infection can also cause blood in the urine. Important thing to figure out is why do you keep getting recurrent urine infections. A proper imaging to exclude any stones, strictures would be a good starting point

58 had it now for 7 months, its everytime and all red, also on and off sore left testical, no other symtoms, had ultrasound and cystoscopy all clear as was urine semen and blood tests last PSA was 0.95 so low for my age waiting now on MRI

ive had blood in semen on and off for a couple years now .. more off than on.. im 47 now.. during this time ive felt achingness on my left testicle at times not often.. my left testicle has swelled up a couple of times years apart from each episode.. i made an appointment the first time a couple of years ago and took a urine test for uti that came back negative for infection.. he then referred me to a urologist that examined me and checked my prostate and nothing came from that .. when i was in my late 30s i had a visectomy done i doubt it had anything to do with that. now ive made another appointment with my dr.. to see once and for all what the cause might be..

Thank you for your comment. Most of the time blood in the semen is benign however recurrent symptoms must be thoroughly investigated. It has a good idea to also screen for sexually transmitted infections if not done already.

I had a Bypass, could this be a result of a cathater being used , can cause blood in seman.

Thanks for the comment. Are you referring to coronary artery bypass? If you had a catheter in bladder for few days and are on blood thinners this could be the cause

We moved, so I was carrying lot of stuff down the stairs, and yes it was strenous on my abdomen, lower abdomen, and felt like some pain, that was like two weeks ago, but then again ...ahh its prob smth of that smth with the abdomen..., below belly button

thank you for the comment. After a strenuous workout or lifting heavy weights sometimes we can see blood in the semen but this should be temporary

@@HealingwithHEALOR temporary? but is that like in few days or few weeks...cause now has passed like 15 days since I first ejaculated the bloody semen and since then two more times, last time was probably week ago in a wet dream. Is it advised to ejaculate more often while having this issue, or you can wait to a month or more?

Heyyyy doc its been 6 to 7 months now once i start having sex its normal but once im about to ejaculate or ejaculate there thick red clot blood inbthe semen you can't even recognize the semen just blood an after that is ehen the real problem start the blood is do thick with clot, after i try to urinate its blocked so i cannot urinate only a tiny bit of blood an urine comes out so when i go to the emergency room im warded with catheter in me so once i start urinating clear im discharged afraid to have sex i had sex once since same problem its really annoying plus when i have wet dreams there no blood in the semen like really only when i have sex im 40 btw

you should see a urologist and get evaluated. get checked for PSA and ultrasound of the area

Two, three days ago I had blood like pinky urine, and I drank water, and cranberry juice and it was better, the urine got better after that. But now I ejaculated, and it was red all over. I was terified.

@@HealingwithHEALOR yes the urine is ok, but the semen- sperm is not , I ejaculated yesterday and for the second time was like that, it was maybe a little different but - it is like dark red blood or browny color...idk if that also goes away like the urine which got better, ...with more time for the sperm is maybe needed ? ...Can you tell me like where is the problem, is it in the testicles or smth else.

thank you for your comment. Blood in the urine is common especially for younger individuals and can happen after a strenuous exercise. If it happens again then I recommend getting a medical evaluation

I am 31yrs recently I observe my semen brownish n after 2 -3 days I noticed my semen it's mixed with blood before like one year plus I used blood thinning tablet I had a blood clot on my left leg can this be the course of bloodish semen
